Remember the days when it seemed that everyone you needed was just a few doors away? When your family members were the first people you saw when you woke up in the morning, and the last before going to sleep? When a day without seeing your best friends was impossible, because even if you shared no classes at all, you’d be sure to run into them in the hallway? As each moment passes and we all continue on living these pretty lives of ours, many of the ones we care about all disperse in different directions, and spending time with them is not as easy as it once was… but this allows us to value the time we do get to spend with them all the more… and it introduces us to all different worlds.
This past weekend, my sister and I took airplanes from our respective cities and landed together in Asheville, North Carolina: the (new) home of two of our really good guy friends. The type of friends that guarantee a trip filled with lots of doing and so much laughter. The type of friends that make you feel at home in their presence… even if you’re miles and miles into the unknown. We ate. We drank. We explored. We laughed. We danced. We chilled, hard… all in a place that was completely new to us. Two full days spent in incredibly good company. It was just what we needed.
