Simple Decor Idea: Plants & Kitchenware

Plants and kitchenware. It only seems natural that I would combine these things for a way to decorate the home… I always try to surround myself with nature in any way possible, and in the last few years I’ve acquired an ever-growing collection of vintage kitchenware. It somewhat saddens me to keep all of my gorgeous glasses hidden in the kitchen cabinet when they’re not in use, so I discovered another use for them: as planters.

It’s so easy to do. You literally just take the plant out of its original container and mold it into the glass. If the glass is too tall for your itty bitty plant, you can add extra soil or rocks at the bottom — rocks are also great because they act as a drain when you water the plants. If you want, you don’t even have to remove the plant from its original plastic container — you can just plop it right into the glass as-is, and cover the plastic portion with moss.

I love using succulents (they’re the easiest to take care of!), but this could work with almost any type of small plant. It’s also a great idea for an alternative Christmas tree during the holidays!

These little guys are beautiful to have scattered throughout the house, but I must say I absolutely adore them in a little group together.

What do you guys think — would you do this in your home?

I love the rustic vibe these have. Off to the thrift store to get my old glasses!

I love plants indoors, they make you feel natural and light. I love putting fresh tuberose around the house as well, makes the whole house smell like a tropical oasis <3
