I remember when I put on a vegan leather jacket for the very first time. My style has always been really feminine and girly, and with this one flip of a switch, I simply — and suddenly — felt cool. The look of leather is incredible in its ability to do such a thing. Just one piece can transform the entire mood of an outfit. Throw a biker jacket over your lacey dress, add a pair of round sunglasses, and suddenly you’re catching the gaze of every person on the street. Who is that girl? Where is she going? Can I come, too? Today I wanted to share some of my favorite vegan leather products, just as they are. No bells or whistles needed… these pieces have a personality all their own.
This fringe guy is perfection in a bag. Fringe + vegan leather = super, super cool, and the fold-over shape looks chic yet casual. I would certainly use this as an everyday bag, and take it from day into night.
These must be the best vegan leather pants I’ve ever encountered. They have a great shape and can be worn with absolutely anything: a crisp buttondown tucked in and buttoned all the way to the top with a collar necklace… a simple cropped tee with a ton of jewelry, a flowy feminine top with a pair of ankle booties. It all works. I think the zippers are my favorite parts — especially the ones at the bottom. I love them worn unzipped for a slightly flared look.
The (removable) hood on this jacket makes it super casual — a great piece to pair with some slouchy harem pants and sneakers… and maybe a beanie on top of your head. I love the fact that the collar is slightly pliable — you can maneuver it in any direction to give the look a bit more of an edge.
These pants simply blow my mind. I don’ t know how our designers do it. Such a simple look, but an incredible idea. Skinny jeans with a pleated vegan leather trimming on the sides. You don’t need much to make an outfit with these — just a plain, loose black or white tee and a great pair of black ankle boots.
Finally, this bag. This is the kind of bag I’d take with me on a weekend trip from Philly to New York. Just the right size to hold my essentials and maybe a change of clothes, and the allover studding makes for endless interest. This bag looks great with a printed bohemian dress and a floppy hat.
