Get The Look: Tuxedo Girl Makeup

Our new lookbook — Tuxedo Girl — is up on our site, and it’s all about a feminine take on a masculine look. The styling is simple, with classic black and white mixed with a fun pop of shine or lace here and there. Our model Ieva looks cool and pretty as ever, with natural hair and the slightest hint of makeup. The natural look is not always the easiest to achieve, so I turned to our lovely Makeup artist Deanna Hagan to give us the lowdown on how to get this raw, cool-girl look for ourselves!

Take it away, D! :)

Since the styling was more boy, a simple but feminine makeup seemed to suit Ieva best.

To start, I evened out the skin tone with tinted moisturizer, using a little Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer to conceal more where needed (under eyes, corners of nose and any blemishes). Next I used KA Celestial powder brushed lightly over cheekbones and eyelids, followed by KA Sculpting Powder for a little cheek contour. I applied KA Essential Mascara on top and bottom for a subtle touch of feminine, and then later we added a wing liner with KA Precision Liquid Liner in black (which I absolutely love!). Lips were kept their natural tone and moistened with homeoplasmine.
