Faces of the Alameda Flea Market: Street Style

There are only two occasions where waking up before dawn is really exciting – if I’m getting on a plane to a far away tropical oasis… or…driving to a flea market to fight with the best of them (the other hunters) for things I probably don’t need. Waking up at 5am, on a Sunday, by choice. Roll out of bed, put anything on that is in reach with eyes still shut and creep out of the house with pint-sized coffee in hand… oh hey, look at that… still dark. Moon is still smiling,  Sun is still in heavy sleep. Drive an hour to try and beat out the best of the sorters/hoarders/collectors and buyers. I will not let them get the goods I don’t even know I need yet. Period.  Every first Sunday of every month, this is my chosen routine.

Alameda Flea Market brings tens of thousands that sort and sift through the goods of Northern California’s best vendors. The market in and of itself is an honest one, as all goods for sale must be 20 years or older. Located along the empty shores of Alameda’s naval shipyard, San Francisco peaks its head over the foggy skyline for the duration of your perusing. Let me say this; there is nothing more enjoyable than headphones + your favorite playlist + sifting through old treasures + looking up from time to time to people watch and stare at the city from this view. It’s the perfect (and almost free of charge) therapy for any and all.

This Sundays beautiful faces of Alameda Flea Market….
