My senses on high alert, I always find myself picking up on pieces of conversation, watching peoples’ facial expressions and movements, wondering who they are and what they’re doing. Traveling forces you to step outside of your everyday “bubble,” and you notice more. No longer a part of the pack that’s rushing to go to work or catch the subway, you’re a bystander, standing still as the world moves around you at its same hurried pace.
