UPDATE! Now that more festivals have announced their lineups, I wanted to share them below and revisit the 2014 festival calendar!
Around this time each year, my mind starts to turn towards festivals again, as the start of a new season approaches. We may be in the dead of winter, but the days of sunshine, music outside, and dancing barefoot aren’t all that far away. A few weeks ago Coachella announced their 2014 lineup, and immediately the festival buzz kicked up a notch. Sasquatch seems to be following in Coachella’s footsteps by hosting two weekend-long festivals this summer – and taking it a step even further by offering a completely different lineup for each. I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve got my eye on weekend 2…check out both weekends below and listen to a playlist of artists who will be at Sasquatch this year!
And so the countdown begins… Coachella weekend one is 65 days away, but first, the unofficial kickoff to festival season takes place in Austin, TX, with SXSW – just a little over a month from now. Below is a little map I made of all the festivals I wish I’d love to attend – wouldn’t it be amazing to just hop around from festival to festival? What ones will you all be attending this year? Who are you most excited to see, or hoping will be making the festival rounds?
Coachella – April 11-13 & 18-20; Indio CA

Pitchfork – July 18-20, Chicago IL
Lollapalooza – August 1-3, Chicago IL

gah – the line-up is killer! Saw Arcade Fire at Bonnaroo 2010 and it was one of the best nights of my life! :) Sadly I don’t think I’ll make it to any of the “big” fests this year. But are there any great little ones in the NE I should put on my “must-do” list?

I’m already prepping for my 4th Bonnaroo so incredible!!! Someday Coachella and Outside Lands, but those are hard for this east coast girl. I’m also really excited for Jay-Z’s Made In America Festival Labor Day weekend in Philly. A little too urban to feel like a true fest, but the headliners having been amazing the past two years!!!
You guys should really check out Osheaga music festival that happens in Montreal each summer!
Austin Psych Fest is coming on up! Not your typical festival, but if you like music made by musicians and played in a beautiful setting – in Austin by the Colorado River – see you there! Last year was amazing, and I imagine this year will be even better. Stoked!
