The natural aphrodisiac in this recipe? The pomegranate! Pomegranates are packed with antioxidants, which protect the lining of blood vessels and allow more blood to course through them.
Maple Baked Oatmeal with Pomegranate
serves 2
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 cups milk of choice (check out this post on which milk is best!)
1 egg
1 tbs unsalted butter, melted
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
2 tsp brown sugar
Pomegranate seeds for topping
Additional maple syrup for serving
Preheat oven to 350. In a bowl, combine milk, egg, butter, and maple syrup. Whisk gently until evenly incorporated. In a separate bowl, combine oats, walnuts, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Pour wet mix into dry mix and mix thoroughly until oats have absorbed most of the liquid.
Divide evenly between two greased ramekins. Top each with 1 tsp brown sugar and bake for 30 minutes, or until top has browned slightly. Serve warm, and top with pomegranate and maple syrup.

This looks so goood! Cant wait to try it.
This looks fantastic! I always struggle to eat oatmeal, but I’ve never tried it baked – I think this just may be the combination that convinces me to make it a regular breakfast. I can’t always find pomegranates where I live, so I might occasionally substitute dried cranberries instead. I’m looking forward to making this!

Awesome food tip from my doctor of Chinese medicine step-dad, the things that visually mimic certain parts of your body are nourishing for that part. Walnuts;brain, beans;kidneys, if you cut a carrot it resembles an eye, and I’ve always thought pomegranates beads were like blood cells… a bit weird but kind of fun!

I just made tthis with some modifications because I didn’t have maple syrup and pomegranates, so I used honey and dried cranberries. Wow, you guys, I don’t think I’ll ever have regular oatmeal again!
