Tailoring, checks and chunky shoes were out in force on Day 1 of London Fashion Week. Oh, and the rain and wind. Poor street stylers and photographers did their best to overcome the elements, but it wasn’t easy! Blown away umbrellas, wispy hair and a few fashion fabulous falls onto Somerset House’s cobble stones were all part and parcel of the circus.
Great to see wardrobe staples the black leather jacket and big faux fur still on trend, and loving the pastel hair colours and ear embellishment – I saw lots of bling ear cuffs in action and quite a lot of bold prints. I’m guessing we’re already seeing the SS14 trends in action – graphic prints, the enduring check and some metallic fabrics too. The only thing I didn’t see was the big pleat, which I just know is going to be big come spring!
Luckily, Day 2 improved weather wise and also improved the buzz and everyone’s mood. Fashion week is as much about the shows and fashion as catching up with good friends and having a great natter! Along with catching up with pals on Saturday and hitting blogger haven The Apartment, I popped into the Scandinavian showrooms to check out some of the amazing brands they have there (I’m a huge fan of Scandi style and bloggers!) – you can check out my round-up here!
Here are some of my favourite LFW street style shots, hope you enjoy them!
