Easy Beauty Tip: Grape Flour Paste

Some of my favorite homemade beauty products are the ones that are the easiest to make. Not only do they take the slightest bit of effort, but they tend to be the ones that work the best, too. Plus, your kitchen may already be stocked with the ingredients you need! The newest homemade beauty remedy I’ve been experimenting with has been used by women in Chile for years, and the main ingredient is a sweet little fruit that is a summertime staple: the grape.

Grapes are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins that are good for you, on the inside and out. Their high levels of vitamin C and powerful antioxidants make them one of the best fruits to reduce redness and blemishes, and brighten the skin. Red grapes specifically contain a special antioxidant called Resveratrol that helps rejuvenate the skin, leaving it with a warm glow and soft texture. I read that Chilean women use the fruit to make a special paste, and I had to try it out myself.

All you need are two ingredients: Grapes and Flour.

In a bowl, mix a handful of red and black grapes with about 4 tablespoons of white flour.

mashing grapes

Using the back of a spoon or fork, begin to mash up the grapes so that the juice starts to combine with the flour.

You can always add in more grapes or more flour depending on how much of the paste you want to make. The consistency should be a little bit thicker than yogurt.

Once the paste is well mixed, apply a thin layer onto a freshly washed face (it’s okay if you apply bits of grape skin…this is where most of the powerful antioxidants are stored!). Leave the paste on for about 10-15 minutes before washing off.

Voila! Beautiful glowing skin that will have you prepped and ready for summer.

(Be sure to cover and store the paste in the refrigerator after using!)

I love this idea! I’ve actually bought “wine” or “grape” antioxidant face masks before, and this is such a more direct delivery system for all of those beneficial nutrients and antioxidant powers that make my skin glow. Thanks!!!

As a chilean, I’m so proud of seeing this ancient homemade remedy for tired and dull skin :) is one of my favorites! I use rice flour for better results with acne skin marks.
