Our Favorite Summer Beauty Tips

Each season brings with it a different climate, and I find myself switching up my beauty regime based on what’s going on outside. Summer means warmth, long days under the sun, and a lot of outdoor activities that can take a toll on our bodies. We all have those special little tips that keep us looking our best throughout the year, and it’s interesting to hear how others do the same. I wanted to check in with some of the girls around our office to see what they do during the hotter months. See what they have to say below to keep up their best summer look!

Kate

I’m always so jealous of Kate’s tan – she seems to be bronzed and beautiful all year round! She uses a mixture of coconut oil and Aveda Smoothing Body Polish to keep her skin looking soft and feeling smooth.

Madisyn

Madisyn’s tip is that she makes sure to always have jojoba oil and SPF close to her side!

“My summer beauty tip is to take care of your skin! As much as I love the sun, I also love taking care of my health. I’m all for a good tan, and can easily go from being extremely fair to super dark within a few days at the beach, but I like to do it the safe way. Before I leave the house, I make sure to put that SPF 30 on my face to keep my skin protected and  looking young and healthy! After I wash my face at night, I moisturize with <3 joboba oil <3. I love this oil because it hydrates my skin really well (especially after a day in the sun), but also cleans it and prevents blemishes!”

Katy

Katy uses her own special sea salt spray to help her maintain textured, beachy locks.

This girl is all about bright nails and conditioned skin this summer.

“I was recently introduced to a new skin product that has been added to my list of Summer time beauty staples! “Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner” is IT, and has saved my skin multiple times already. The cocoa butter, almond oil, and cupuacu butter are perfect remedies for dry skin and razor burn. Also, the light rose scent is refreshing and a great pick-me-up. As for neon nails, need I say more? There’s just something about Summer’s energy that goes hand in hand with bright polish!”

Naomi

Naomi, one of the ‘greenest’ girls I know, always seems to make the most out of nature. Check out her homemade salve that’s made with only the freshest of ingredients!

“All summer long, I’m out adventuring, and in the process my legs tend to get a little scraped and bruised (no good when wearing shorts!). To help the nicks heal more quickly, I slather them with a homemade yarrow, comfrey, calendula, and plantain salve! “

I’m really intrigued by the clear mascara. Do you use it on your lashes and brows?

Alexandra – Clear mascara is my FAVORITE makeup during the summer. You can also use mascara primer. It’s a lot lighter. I don’t put it on my brows but you definitely can if you tend to get flyaways :)

I like to use aloe vera gel as a brow gel. It has better ingredients and is a great alternative to store brands full of chemicals, and it doesn’t make me break out.

I just made an amazing gel for my face using aloe vera, rose water, lemon water, bamboo water and just a drop of lemon or mint essential oil. It’s really refreshing, smells so great and is very efficient to keep my skin from drying and it even prevents blemishes !

Love the sea salt for the hair tip – I too have crazy frizzy hair and I’m always trying to find ways to tame the lion’s mane in the summer! I’ll have to give it a try :)

I really appreciate your tip to put SPF lotion on your face every day so your skin can stay protected. My wife and I have been thinking of moving into an area that has a lot of sun every day, and we want to make sure that our skin doesn’t break out. In order to do that, I will be sure to get lotion for my face with SPF!
