Gentle green river, be kind… from behind the woods you’ll soon be seen…
When Dan Sartain said he’d work with Free People to create a music video, we were so very excited. Dan is a gritty yet playful and magical songwriter from Birmingham, AL, and the opportunity to work with him “at home” became something out of a dream or classic rock song. The backwoods between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa served us well. We made peace with mother nature and unsettled morning skies before accessing a sleepy portion of the Cahaba River, where Dan and a brood of gorgeous ladies – some of whom work at our local Birmingham store – accompanied us on the water in inner-tubes and good fun.
Thank you to all involved for a day straight out of our dreams.

Alexandra Valenti kills it as always, gorgeous job.
…..drifting down that beautiful river floating on an inner tube would be such a delicious way to spend the final days of summer in the lingering heat………I can’t wait for the music video, I’m sure its amazing!

Gorgeous imagery. I love the shots on the carpet, but then I’m always a sucker for rich patterning.

Intensely dreamy. I love the old southern belle look, very cool against the motown feel of the song.
And parasols!!!

What a beautiful shoot. I wish we’d get more pics to see. I bet they take hundreds of pictures and all we see are a dozen or so.
I love the white, dreamy, vintage-inspired, lace-lingerie look that the dresses give off in the video!
