Right on the coast of the Bay of Biscay, just 12 miles from the French border, is a little Spanish city where Europeans go to unwind: San Sebastián.
Days are full, nights don’t end, the sun shines high, and Basque-style tapas – pintxos – are plentiful. You’ll first walk through the buzzing Spanish streets, admiring the buildings, the palm trees, the shops, soaking it all in, yet knowing full well that that’s not the real reason you’re there. You came, as we did, for the delicious food and that gorgeous turquoise water… and the remainder of your time there will be spent submerged in both.
