5 Hairstyles We’re Loving For Fall

As the seasons change, so does hair.

The weather has so much to do with the way I tend to my tresses. The summer brings on heat, so most of the time I’ll throw my locks in a high pony just to keep it off of my neck. Come fall though, and the cooler air makes taming hair much easier. I always get excited because this is the time of the year when I like to experiment with different styles. I love taking classic looks and putting some sort of twist on them to make the style feel new. Here are 5 hairstyles we’re loving this season!

Beanie Braid

long braid and pins

I normally wear my hair completely down when I wear a beanie, but I’ve realized there’s actually a lot more you can do with it if you have the right amount of hair, like add in a braid!

How To: The key is to start your braid down low, close to the nape of the neck, and keep it loose. This way, it allows room to pull down the beanie as you would wearing your hair completely flat. I also like to add in two little braids from the side that feed in to the main one down the back.

Then, I’ll take two decorative pins to secure them. Simple to do, and takes the normal braid up a notch!

Samurai Knot

top knot

I’ve been seeing so many girls wear their hair like this around our office – it’s a great way to keep your hair out of your face, without having to wear it completely up.

How to: Take a section of your hair in the middle of your head, starting at the hair line and about as far back as the crown, and twist it around into a bun. Secure with some bobby pins or a hair tie, then give a little tease to the hair left down. It adds in some volume to play up the look a bit!

Inside Out Ponytail

inside out

This is not a new hairstyle, but it certainly seems to be making a comeback! It’s so easy to do, and we love the look of this low pony.

How to: Secure your hair in a low pony, then pull the elastic down a tad to split the hair above in half. Take the low pony and flip it through the separated space, then pull it through to create the twist effect.

To make it feel new, try wearing this style with a headband!

Three-in-One

cage braid

This one is a little tricky, but looks so cool if you can get the hang of it! Normally I’ll wear one half crown braid down the back, but braiding in two more makes for a pretty layered braid.

How To: Start by making three little braids on each side of the head, one in line with the temple, one in line with the brow bone, and then one just above the ear. You will have six braids in total, three on each side. Join the braids in the back of the head, and combine into one braid going down the back.

I like to secure the end with some twine, then stick a little feather in!

 Three Rows

corn rows

Our PR intern came into work the other day with these three awesome braids in her hair and I had to take a picture. It has such a cool edginess to it!

How to: Divide all of your hair into three sections. Take each section, and do a reverse french braid all the way down. A reverse french braid is one that lays on top instead of under, as you can see in the picture. Keep these braids tight rather than loose!

The three in one! So cool. But I wonder how to take the two sections (of 3 braids each) and combine them into one braid in the back…

Lovely post! I like the samurai knot but I would do it a lot looser and messier! <3

I love the Beanie Braid – that’s definitely my go-to look in the fall, it’s so easy and cozy but still cute.
