FP Me Profiles: Meet Courtney Scott

Wanderlust…

I’m sure we’re all familiar with the feeling. That desire to just go… to let free the explorer that lives within all of us. The world is large, and getting the chance to explore every single nook and cranny of it might be impossible, but one can try… right?

Courtney Scott is on her way. She has a dream to trot the globe, and she’s found a way to make travel a part of her everyday life. Nine years ago, she booked a one way ticket to Italy, a life changing move which inspired her to create her travel blog. Fast forward to the present, and that blog helped her to land the Senior Editor position at Travelocity. Every week, she produces and stars in their web series, Let’s Roam, where she shares her travel stories from one destination to the next. When she’s not on the road you can find her exploring the streets of her home base, NYC.

I met Courtney in New York a few weeks ago, where she shared with me the parts of the city that inspire her the most. From the cobblestone streets of Soho, to the vibrant colors of China Town, it was fun getting to know this hard working girl a little better as we made our way around the Big Apple. She even introduced the team and I to one of her favorite treats from a bakery in China Town… egg custard tarts! For someone who has seen many parts of our earth, she reminded all of us that day that you don’t need to travel far in order to find magic…

When I’m traveling I feel alive, creative and free.  If I could bottle up that feeling, I would.  I have managed to turn my passion for travel into a career and I feel blessed every day to do what I do. New York City has been my home base for the last 10 years.  It’s an endless source of inspiration, both for my blog and my personal style.  My favorite thing to do in NYC is walk.  Especially in the fall when a wave of Indian summer hits and the streets are buzzing.  Each city block is a new adventure and you never know what’s around the corner.  This city feeds my curiosity like no other.

What a gorgeous woman! And what a life she lives – very blessed. What kind of pastry is she holding with the yellow middle? Looks like a Portuguese pastry :)

Warm Regards,
Alexandra

Hi Alexandra, thanks for your note! Those are egg custards from Taipan Bakery in Chinatown but they are definitely similar to the Portuguese ones! Dee-lish!
