Home Décor Inspiration: Vintage Display Shelf

There’s a new piece of décor in my home that has me swooning nonstop: this here vintage wooden display shelf.

I found it at a thrift store, and it was love at first sight. I’ve been looking for one of these for years! I believe it may have originally been used as a printer’s tray, which just adds to the love I have for it. I’ve always had a thing for tiny trinkets, and this display shelf is the perfect way to showcase a whole bunch at once.

Just gather your favorite mini things…

…and set them up as you please. I love how each individual cubby is like its own little world – but still each meshes with those that surround it, creating a little community.

Here’s what I’ve filled my shelf with so far:

Shelves like these are a beautiful decoration in any room of the house, and I love how they give you the ability to showcase so many items at once, and the freedom to rearrange them whenever the mood strikes.

  1. I have one of these. I purchased it a few years back. I love displaying my mini trinkets and it’s forever changing depending in my mood or season. I have crystals, mini Buddha, mini seashells, a tiny glass box with a tiny crystal in it. Elephant figurines which I collect and mini bottles. Also one fortune cookie fortune. The drawer/ shelf has a handle with the name Hamilton mfg co.

  2. I have a old stamp drawer I have had for over 25 years. It’s much smaller than this, but it’s VERY similar. Mine just has much smaller boxes and more. Inside there’s a variety of things I’ve collected throughout my entire life. I love it, I will display it for the rest of my life. Mine is very colorful and a great conversation starter at my house.

  3. It’s such an incredible coincidence because I just bought one a vintage letterpress tray this morning!!!! It should be mailed out sometime this week, so now I’m even MORE excited about receiving it!!! After reading your wonderful suggestions, I want to buy another one! I’ll probably post a picture of it on my Instagram account, with my other vintage finds when it comes in the mail. Thank you for sharing!
