Free People Australia Takes On NYC!

This trip has made me realize how blessed I am to be able to draw comparisons; the ability to notice change, take a step back and assess how I feel about the old and the new. After all, self-evaluation and reflection is the cornerstone to progressing in all aspects of life.

In my short five days back in NYC, I’ve felt like I have been constantly bouncing between the present “newness” of my life and reflections of my past, comparing the old me with the new me.

You see, the last time I was in New York was just over a year ago.

It was winter in Australia, summer in the city. I bought a one-way ticket to the US and jumped on a plane by myself to do some soul searching. I started off with a month in New York, and at the time I was still coming out of my shell, quite timid and looking for something, but I wasn’t quite sure what. I kicked around the streets, taking it all in. I haven’t spent that much time alone in my adult life and it was an interesting way to challenge myself and experiment with how I would deal with the craziest city in the world, completely on my own.

But a lot can change in a year.

This time round, I jumped on a plane with my business partner-slash-best-friend. It was summer in Australia and winter in New York. This was the result.

Fun! The city looks cold! Definitely is a good place to feel lonely and get inspired.

Warm Regards,

Such gorgeous shots of the city! It looks like you had an Awesome Time! It reminds me of my very first trip to NY a few years ago with my boyfriend … I don’t know quite what I was expecting but I was blown away by the magical experience of that very large “small town”… thank you for sharing

Best Wishes,
Susan
