The Allure of the Perfect Vintage Piece

A pop of sparkle, just the right amount of shine — there’s no better time of year to add that extra bit of something to an outfit. But just how do you stand out in a festive sea of gorgeous velvet and lovely sequins? By choosing a truly remarkable — and storied — vintage piece as your main focal point. Vintage has been a part of my closet — and my life — for as long as memory serves. When an event looms on the horizon and the time comes to figure out what to wear, vintage has always been my go-to choice.

A piece with history… a nearly 100% fail-proof way to ensure your look will be completely unique. The launch of our latest Vintage Loves collection — Egyptian Revival — has me feeling truly inspired for the holidays. and today I’m sharing a few of my favorite pieces from the collection and how I’d wear them:

Get the Look: Vintage Fuzzy Embroidered Jacket, Vintage Chiffon Pleated Mini Skirt, Vintage 1940s Beaded Purse, We the Free Rested and Ready Mock Neck, Casey Loafer, Greenwich Thigh Hi

Long cocoon coat, sweater & mini skirt, loafers & thigh highs… this is a staple look in my winter wardrobe and one that I have a tendency to recreate on a near-weekly basis. I love the flippy hem of this black vintage mini skirt, and paired with lots of texture and shine, it can be easily worn from the office to a holiday happy hour.November Vintage November Vintage

Vintage pieces offer the perfect opportunity to mix and match texture and shine. Try a beaded top paired with a bold pink jacket for your next holiday party or potluck.

For a more casual look, take an ethereal dress into cooler weather by layering it over destroyed ankle skinnies and a colorful bra. This is also the perfect way to make those summer dresses stick around for just a little while longer.

Such pretty looks for the holidays – especially NYE with the sparkle and glamour. Adore the skirts with knee socks.

Warm Regards,

Lovely beyond belief. And rather than ‘just’ a garment, for one season…..vintage is a heritage, a legacy; a protection from the elements that has given shelter and beauty, and has been lovingly kept safe by previous generations. Just so we can enjoy it, and shelter it in our turn, for a little bit longer. I love vintage clothing (and have large collection!) and give thanks to those who came before me , for handing down these wonderful pieces. xxx

So I am dying to do a cold winter beach fashion shoot and I think that white coat could give it that WOW factor! Love it!

Beautiful pieces! I am a bit obsessed with vintage clothing (thus my shop). I don’t keep much for myself, but I did keep a gorgeous 60’s bohemian quilted maxi dress by Lanz and a darling 70’s boho/Hippie sheer floral sundress by Young Edwardian. Couldn’t part with them if I tried. Vintage lingerie is also one of my obsessions. :)
