Weekend Snapshot: Morning Bliss

This post comes from our blog intern, Aubrie!

It’s just been one of those weeks. Each morning I’ve woken with the utmost resistance to the blaring sounds of my alarm clock. I’ve laid in bed going through every reason in the books not to get out of bed. Then finally, when none of my ideas seem logical in the slightest and I realize the time, I jolt out of bed. The pressure of time in turn causes my morning routine to be hasty and stressful. Yet, I always find at least a few minutes for that cup of coffee that will enliven my senses and make the long day ahead seem just a bit more manageable. It happens to the best of us…

Then the weekend comes and my mind still races with what I have to do and where I have to be. But the reality is, there will be no alarm clocks, no desperation for caffeine, and no pressing plans. Time will magically extend for two days. This weekend in particular I want to take the opportunity to appreciate those hours of the morning that always seem urgent. Instead, I want to lay in bed and stare at the ceiling only to let creative thoughts whirl about in my head. Then, when my body finally tells me it’s been fully recharged, I will rise but wait to change out of my nighttime attire. I’ll make my way to the kitchen to soak up the rays of the rising sun and savor the sweet aroma of brewing java.

A morning routine is often overlooked as mundane, but I feel it should really be cherished. Tasks like doing your hair or getting dressed may seem simple, but the truth is your morning sets the mood for the rest of your day.  Once we stop rushing through life, we realize how much more of it we really have time for. The way I see it, you should start each day in a positive light!

I love this outfit! Mornings are normally my favourite part of the day when I get up reasonably early. A good morning routine sets you up for the rest of the day so you should always cherish a good morning routine! Super sweet post :)

I love spending my Sunday mornings just lounging in bed with a mug of tea and magazines I didn’t get around to reading that week, books I’m interested in, finally catching up on all my email. I sleep with one of the shades up on Saturday night so the sunrise gently wakes me…..it’s almost a magical way to wakeup :)

I always get up a little earlier than my kiddos do so I can enjoy a little piece of quiet while enjoying my first cup of coffee. That’s what gets me out of bed everyday.

I love to wake my son up (specially at weekend) and take him to my bed. his kind of “waking up” is so much like my own. we sing, we chat, we count numbers (he’s learning them), there is a lot of laugh, tickles, kisses, hugs and lots of good stuff. <3

The sheer cardigan pairs so well with the rest of this outfit! I love it.

My favorite mornings are when I can slowly wakeup without an alarm with my lover by my side. If the weather is good enough to leave the windows open it’s even better. <3
