Flea market season has officially begun in New York. A time that brings the hunters and collectors out in all of us and my first stop of the season was at the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene.
It was the ideal situation. Best friends in town. Sun shining. No plans for the day. We woke up at our leisure and ventured over to Fort Greene, smiling all the way… soaking in the unmistakable happiness that tends to fill the air whenever the weather is just right.
Flea markets are always such a thrill. You never know what you’ll find, who you’ll meet, and what new knowledge you’ll acquire. Here’s a taste of what the Brooklyn Flea looked like on Saturday.
These vintage medicinal bottles were kept in a doctor’s attic since 1965 – they were used in the ’40s and ’50s. A lot of them are still filled with various powders and liquids, which was so cool to see.
Shoutout to the most stylin’ couple I came across all day.
This adorable shop owner was the queen of vintage denim. Jana walked away with an awesome denim buttondown from her shop, called American Butt Clothing.
We were so excited to find Mouse Trap Vintage – the wonderful owner Sarah actually lives in Philly, and we’ve met a couple of times before!
I loved this beautiful gemstone book she had on display.
Warehouse 30 had all of the vintage knobs and screws one could ever ask for.
Another adorable shop owner. I was into her selection of vintage printed dresses and skirts.
I loved this little outfit that the owner of Omnia Vintage put together.
This Native American Mandela from C&C Pop-up Shop was breathtaking.
Jana got some pretty cool round sunglasses.
As for my loot…
I’m in love with my paisley straw rug from Deerwolf, and this gorgeous floral weekend bag.
+ Were any of you at the Brooklyn Flea over the weekend? I’ll be selling at their Williamsburg location sometime next month – hope to see you babes there!
Follow Brigette on Instagram, and have a look at her blog and Etsy shop!
I’ve always wanted to go to the Brooklyn Flea! Unfortunately we don’t have anything at quite the same scale in DC– just Eastern Market.

That wicked rug is amazing – don’t let me loose in a flea market!

I love flea markets!!!! I like to have a general idea of what I’m looking for when I go, since I can get overwhelmed with all the variety, and possibly buy too much! It’s also good to bring cash and not be afraid to do a bit of bargaining. This weekend I’m heading out to the Long Beach Antique Market with my fiance for my birthday! : )
The Weaver Of Words…..give me 15 words and I’ll tell you a tale
