FP Me Stylist Of The Week: FPJax

Every once in a while, you come across an image on FP Me that just stops you in your tracks. Styling? Perfect. Photography? Unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Such was the case when my eyes first landed on an image from this week’s Stylist of the Week, FPJax.

Boasting an FP Me profile that truly stands out from all the rest, this Oklahoma-born, Philadelphia-livin’ style star’s images are consistently some of my favorites. Always set in gorgeous, lush locations, with lighting that just draws you in, perfectly accenting the beachy waves of Jax’s sun-bleached mane, it wasn’t until recently that I discovered Jax inhabits a desk right here at home office, not far away from where our team sits. Upon this discovery, I just had to sit down with this styling phenom to get the whole story. World, meet FPJax!

Where are you from? How do you think this shaped the pup you are today?

I was born in Oklahoma, in a small town of no more than 1,500. After a brief stop in Virginia Beach, where I took full advantage of the sun and surf, I was eventually adopted and ended up in here in Philadelphia. My widespread roots have shaped me into an adventurer and a jet-setter. My paws are always dusty from the long and winding road.

Where do you currently call home? Any hidden gems in your neighborhood?

Home is in the Midtown-neighborhood in center city Philadelphia, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There are so many amazing shops and cafes, but some of my favorite nooks are Doggie Style boutique for toys and treats and 13th street for brunch or dinner — I just love dining al fresco! I also can’t get enough Shake Shack! When I’ve been especially good, my humans take me to the Rittenhouse Square location and order me a Pooch-ini. 

How do you typically spend your days? Give us a day in the life of Jax…

I loooove mornings! I always start my day by licking my human’s face, I mean, is there any other way? After a morning cuddle session, it’s time to get out of bed and start the day. After breakfast (usually something all-natural, artfully arranged in a gorgeous bowl), it’s off to work at Building 25 for the day (if I’m not going to Philly Dog School to see my pals). I won’t lie, my days are pretty exhausting… I basically play and eat Buddy Biscuits for most of the day, sit in on meetings, sometimes squeeze in a photoshoot if I have the time… and then it’s off to the beach in Strathmere, NJ on the weekends. My schedule is hectic, so I try to fit in as much beach time as I can.

You always seem to be sporting inspiring style – we loved your creative Halloween costume! — who is your style muse? 

I find inspiration everywhere — from the runways, local street art, Instagram… to my puppy pals at the office. I’m really loving FPJuno’s style right now… and she’s really cute. And FPGatsby always coordinates his collars so effortlessly.

Do you have a favorite quote you live your life by?

“YOLO”

And finally, what does ‘free’ mean to you?

‘Free’ is romping on the beach with the ocean air and salt water breezing through my fur, the sand soft beneath my paws.
