Living In A Denver Dream

What can I say? I’ve fallen in love with Colorado. Again.

Last week I visited Denver, the “Queen City of the West,” to clear my mind and seek rejuvenation. There is no better place to slow your pace and breathe the fresh air than this handsome mountain town. Sitting at the edge of the High Plains, on the base of the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies, Denver is nothing short of a dream.

Upon arriving, I was immediately inspired by the grandiose Rocky Mountain range and the ever-evolving colors at sunset. The fiercely jagged peaks reached so high into the clouds, I couldn’t help but stare in intense wonder. How high can I explore? What is it like up there? Are the views just as I imagine? I had to get up there. In contrast to the colossal mountain range, I was drawn to the radiant yet delicate colors of the sky. The clouds, as if being hypnotized by the wind, would move quickly across the prismatic sky. Greens, blues, purples and pinks would fill the space. It was like the sky was being tie-dyed right before my eyes.

I met with four cool gals from the Free People Denver store to help me shoot some of our newest dresses in the environment I found so inspiring. We shot at the top of Lookout Mountain, about 40 minutes outside of Denver, near the quaint town of Golden. The sun shone brightly down upon us on top of that mountain as the howling wind danced in our hair and brought our clothes to life.
