We have followed Lucy’s blog Fashion Me Now for some time now, and always love how she throws together simple outfits whilst oozing effortless cool. When summer comes, her style transforms to boho beach babe with perfect ease, so when she told us she was visiting the Caribbean for the first time, island hoping around the beautiful tropical beaches, we couldn’t wait to get her in some FP! Here Lucy shows us her favourite vacation outfits from our Summer Collection, and give us her top travel beauty and style tips for staying flawless under the sun.

Hey Lucy, how did you enjoy your first trip to the Caribbean?

Absolutely loved it. Bequia in particular is my new favourite place in the world… The people, the beaches and the rum punch are just a few of the best bits.

When traveling, are you a light packer, or do you take everything in your wardrobe?

I wish I was lighter than I am but inevitably get way too excited and take every single summery thing I own and do that very British thing of taking jeans and sweaters to tropical climates ‘just in case’.

What are your top tips for packing a suitcase?

Always roll, never fold and put all liquids in plastic sandwich bags to save from any explosions or spillages. Boring, practical but both make a big difference!

How does your summer style differ from the other seasons?

I always end up going back to my bohemian roots on holiday, with floaty fabrics, cheesecloth dresses and leather wraparound sandals. I definitely make far less effort in the summer and tend to throw on whatever is easiest to get to the beach in.

What’s the one piece of clothing you can’t live without during summer?

My old, beaten-up Levi’s cut offs. I’ve had them forever and have never found a pair of denim shorts that match up.

What’s your top tip for protecting your hair in the summer sun?

I always spritz my hair with a UV protective spray when in the sun and put a conditioning mask on it every evening. If there’s an outdoor shower on the beach I always rinse off any salt too, to save from drying out my bleached hair.

What products do you use to ensure the perfect post beach glow?

Lancaster Tan Maximising after sun, Tom Ford body oil and Chanel Lumiere bronzer for a bit of golden shimmer on cheek and collar bones.

If you could travel to any country in the world, where would you love to go?

Right now I’ve got Brazil and Costa Rica in my sights and would love to go back to Australia too.

What are your beach bag essentials?

A good book, sunglasses, SPF 50 for my face and lips and some old school disposable waterproof cameras for snorkeling and generally messing around in the water.

Do you prefer chilled out beach holidays, or sightseeing and adventures?

Living in a city makes me really relish lying on a beach and totally zoning out. However I can get quite restless on a sun lounger all day and like to mix the beach up with visits to local towns, long walks and boat trips.

What do you miss the most when you’re away from home?

Sometimes I do miss being able to make and eat exactly what I want and not be at the mercy of hotels. Not even a luxury hotel tastes as good as home…

What’s the best piece of advice that’s ever been given to you?

Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day of your life. And it’s so true! I also always ask myself ‘what’s the worst that can happen?’ when I’m struggling to make a big decision…

What does being free mean to you?

Being able to pick up and go whenever you feel like it without having to ask permission…

The beach is totally calling my name thanks to this post! I love the Magic Power tank – the tassels are so pretty! I love her very British packing tactics – those are New England, USA tactics too :)

Warm Regards,
Alexandra
