Levitation Festival: What To Wear

While many people are making their way to Atlanta for Shaky Knees this weekend, I’ll be heading out to Carson Creek Ranch for one of Austin’s best music festivals, Levitation! This is my first time attending and I can’t wait to see what it’s all about – I’ve heard amazing things.  It’s been pretty hot in Austin lately, but the weather is looking like it could be mostly overcast.  This will make for more comfortable dressing, but fingers crossed for no rain! The style in Austin is very casual, with an emphasis on amazing vintage pieces. I picked out some of my favorite items from the Free People store here in Austin and paired them with some of my vintage favorites to create three perfect festival-ready looks.

I pretty much live in vintage Levi’s. The high-waisted fit is so flattering and they look amazing paired with a cute crop top like the Eclipse Brami. I’m crazy about these easy tie belts we have right now, they’re a great way to add a pop of color or print to a look and have a cool vintage feel to them.

When the sun goes down I would toss on this incredible Bomber Jacket.  The silky fabric, the detailed but subtle embroidery, the cherry red color… everything about it is perfect.

On one day of a festival I usually like to wear something that makes a bit more of a statement, and I’m always a sucker for a romper (especially if it’s printed).  The FP One Corrine Overall caught my eye immediately with its soft fabric, cool print, and mirror embellishments. I like the idea of pairing it with the Merin Stone Belt, some purple sunnies, and ankle boots. Also pictured is my vintage Canon – this is definitely a festival I want to capture on film.

By the last day of a festival I just want to be comfortable and this look is definitely that. I love how effortless this Sahari Lightweight Poncho is! It’s open on the sides, so I’d wear it over a black slip dress (this one is such an essential!) or shorts and a bikini top. The cool thing about the Merin Stone Belt (and others like it) is that it can be worn as a necklace, and I love how it looks with this outfit.

I had never heard of Levitation but it sounds like a lot of fun! My favorite outfit is the black top with that pretty, colorful band!

I keep saying how much I wish I was going to this year’s festival. The lineup is SO good!

Any way, that FP One Corrine Overall is so lovely — who cares if it takes a little extra maneuvering when it comes time to visit the portable toilets?! This really is the perfect piece for a laid-back festival like Levitation.

You’very never heard of it because the name has changed this year. It used to be called Psych Fest.

Those outfits are pretty nice, embroidery always looks better on those fabrics.
