Google the phrase “Wedding Hair” and the results are, well… bleak. Sure, there are gorgeous styles out there, but somehow those ubiquitous ringlets just won’t go away. Whether you’re a bride, bridesmaid, or wedding guest, it’s natural to want your wedding-day hairstyle to stand out from the crowd of up-dos and french twists, and it can be difficult to convey that to your stylist — much less achieve a game-changing hairstyle on your own without all the steps.
That’s why we’ve enlisted FP Me babe and talented hairstylist Lindsey Pengelly to school us in wedding-ready hair that’s not only gorgeous, but completely achievable. Read on to learn how to duplicate her Mohawk-inspired style for yourself, or bring it to your stylist on your trial run as inspiration for your wedding day look. Take it away, Lindsey:
Step 1:
This look will work best with your hair already in loose curls, then part the hair into three sections, with a Mohawk section on top of your head. You can control how wide or narrow you would like the braid, just make sure your parting between the sections is very clean and smooth.
Step 2:
After parting your Mohawk section in the center, do a dutch braid (under over) as far back as you prefer, then tie the dutch braid with an elastic. Then, start pulling the braid to make it big and stand out!
Step 3:
Grab a section of hair on the side and do a normal three-strand braid, secure with an elastic and pull apart the braid to achieve the best, un-done look — you will want to make the braid as big as you can! Repeat step three on the opposite side of the head.
Step 4:
To end the braid, I took the two ends of both braids and circled them around each other to make a small bun, using bobbi pins to hold in place.
Step 5:
Add the cutest FP hair accessories in all the land!

I love this article
I’d definitely need to see it in person to make a final decision – it’s just so super different! I do love how it’s pulled in the back too.
Warm Regards,
Alexandra

I love her!
Hi,
I’m a bit confused. Isn’t dutch braiding all “under?” In the directions, she makes it sound like she’s alternating with over and under?? Can someone help?
oh, that’s super cute!
Jenny –
Yes, a Dutch braid is all braided under. When she says “under over” she means that you will start by braiding one strand of hair under the other. When you move on to strand number two, you will also braid it under. In doing this, it will cause the first strand of hair that you started with to go over the top of strand number two. Although each strand of hair is braided under, it creates an “under over” effect when you pay attention to what is happening to the individual strands. Basically, it’s a case of “you say toe-MAY-toe, I say toe-MAH-toe.” It just depends on how you look at it. Hope this helps.
I love this! Lindsey is so beautiful. She seems like a genuine & sweet person. I’m wishing my hair was all one length because I have a lot of layers & don’t think this would work if you have bangs & layers. But I think it’s really unique & beautiful
