Sydney is a colorful city. Where the city meets the sea, Sydney is located halfway down the east cost of Australia, meaning that the sartorial style is at the median point between edgy, playful, paired down, serious, and chic. Being an occasion dresser at heart, living in Sydney meant ample opportunities for me to try out different looks given the varying style tribes found within each area.
From the preppy, paired-down girls of Paddington who wear leather pants with loafers to the grungy girls of Newtown who rock military jackets and Docs. Avant-garde is the name of the game in Surry Hills, where beanies and Adidas never go astray, while anything denim is a blessing in Bondi.
But amidst the style tribes that sartorially segregate the Eastern suburbs, there lays an undeniable undertone that there is a Free People girl in all of us. In all aspects of her being she is free and adventitious and her style effortlessly ebbs and flows from feminine, romantic, polished and sweet to tough, tomboy, and edgy. Here are some true Free People girls we had the pleasure of meeting in Sydney.

Ooh, where is that striped and gold dress on the bottom picture from?
The cross my heart dress is gorgeous – the FP blog is always killing it!

Those are all beautiful dresses! But I find that I do not look good in loose flowing clothing, are there any more form fitting dresses? :)
