John Denver had it right: she was born into a life she’s never experienced before now: a life of discovery, travel… the road.
Her soul belonged there, her eyes fixated on the nature surrounding her. The wind against her warm and freckled face. Some say she was crazy for always leaving home, tires beating the pavement, heart on fire. But this is what fed her spirit; sleeping under the stars, climbing mountains and jumping off boulders, bathing in the river. Life is beautiful on the road; quiet yet overpowering, majestic yet simple, humbling and bold. She traveled through plains and deserts, crossed canyons, and swam in rivers. She woke with the sun and rested in the moonlight. Life for her didn’t exist until she was on the road… until she saw the world. Keep going west, whispered the wind. And that’s just what she did.
These photos are from photographer Kate Rentz, the woman who inspired the words above. She has taught me that life happens beyond the walls of comfort and to pursue that small voice inside me to keep exploring.

I live near one of these, the Dillon Pinnacles (pic no. 6). It’s on Blue Mesa on Highway 50 between Gunnison and Montrose, CO. It a gorgeous drive (the following 5 pics I think are from the same bit of highway). I wake up every morning to some of the most beautiful views in the country, the West Elk Mountains in the Rocky Mountains. Thanks for capturing the beauty! Love seeing my home on here : )
Love this, so so wonderful.
Breathe taking – thanks for such beautiful inspiration!
So amazing, I’ve never seen anything like that!
From your opening paragraph looks like your plagerizing John Denver’s Rocky Xmountian High sing… Give credit where credit is due
