Take a look at our trip that went up and down Magazine Street, in and out of the French Quarter, and everywhere else in between…
Prior to last week’s trip to New Orleans, my relationship with the city could be described as love-hate. Mostly love, but a night on Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras ’13 that resulted in a stolen phone and wallet, then half-way crying into a pile of powdered sugar at Cafe Dumonde left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I mean, if you have the opportunity to take on the French Quarter when it’s fully drenched in purple, green, and gold, go for it. But to thoroughly take in one of the most unique cities in the US, exploring the culturally rich and eccentric neighborhoods when it’s a bit quieter around town is when you really get to know The Big Easy.
Leading up to the #FPLetsMove event held at Reyn Studios last Wednesday, we had some time to ride around NOLA and check off as many things as we could on our list of suggested places. To be honest, the list was never ending. I’m convinced it’s impossible to run out of things to do in this city. New Orleans is doing something right, and the people who call it home play a huge factor into why this place is the way it is. Everyone I met had a way about them that seemed truly genuine. Laid back… happy… just all around good vibes. During a week where temps were topping off close to 100 degrees, I give the locals a lot of credit for their consistent smiles and upbeat attitudes. Ya’ll had the team and I beat.
Here’s a look at our four days in New Orleans. Don’t mind the sweat.
Stay tuned for more New Orleans content!
+ Have you visited NOLA? What was your favorite thing about the city?
Love these photos. This pulls me to visit NOLA more than any crazy Bourbon street pictures I’ve seen, honestly.

My favorite thing to do in New Orleans was visit the cemeteries! There’s so much history and beauty to be discovered there!

It’s so funny to me how NOLA is a 4 day trip for y’all. It’s always been just a day trip for me, but that’s because I’m from the south. Everyone imagines New Orleans to be full of partying—which it is— but there are a lot of other things to see. The French Market has lovely artisans. There is tons and tons of great food places. The WWII museum is very informational. There is a lot to see!

I was in Nola in the beginning of June- it was my second trip there (after Katrina) and that city has my heart forever. I think about it at least once a day. For anyone going there- make sure you visit Coop’s Place, I had one of my favorite meals there. Nola is such a beautiful and magical city, I can’t wait to go back!
I grew up in South Louisiana, and I think New Orleans’ history is a great example of how we should all live our lives.
If you imagine the great lady that is the Crescent City: She has been under Spanish Rule, French Rule, American Rule… and each time, embraced the change and evolved into a true multi-cultural city like no other on Earth. She’s been destroyed by fire in the 1700s and by wind and water in the 2000s, but each time she picks herself up and begins again – a little more complex but even greater than before.
Thanks to everyone who visits post-Katrina! Your support is essential!
If you haven’t been there before – try to go around March or October; the weather is great then! Visit the Frenchmen Art Market, have a sazerac at The Columns, see some great live music practically anywhere… and if you have the time head outside New Orleans to Lafourche Parish to see some real Cajun culture!

I just got home from New Orleans today! My boyfriend and I went to see Incubus and Deftones play at Champion Square last night. Hands down, best concert I’ve ever been to! There’s also this really cool gothic bar called the Dungeon down by Bourbon St that we like to go to.
Yay!
I LOVE New Orleans! Every time I go I seem to want to immediately return for more. I think my favorite part every time though is cruising down St. Charles Ave. when I get into town.

This first picture looks just like the man street in Antigua, Guatemala!
Was there last year, had a great time. Loved the park, Cafe Dumond and the French Quarter. We did the city tour which took us to this beautiful park, sorry I don’t remember the name, it was raining that day so we couldn’t really go out and explore. I would l Iove to go back someday. There is just so much to do, we also went out on an alligator tour which was GREAT!!!!
Amazing shots, gotta love NOLA. I love the Garden District and of course the French Quarter…yummy beignets !
