With summer bidding her final farewell, blog intern Monica hightailed it for a quick trip toward Ithaca, New York.
What better to do with a weekend than hit the road with nothing but a destination? Especially when that final stop is Ithaca, New York.
Robert Treman State Park proved a great first stop – the perfect place to cool off in the mist of a rushing waterfall. To refresh us, we hit up the Ithaca Farmer’s Market – full of fresh flowers, produce, and goods produced within 30 miles of town – which sits alongside the banks of the Cayuga Inlet. What really grabbed me, however, were Buttermilk Falls, situated along the Gorge Trail Hike. As a Utah native who lived with the mountains, hiking is second-nature…but the Gorge Trail was by far the most beautiful hike I’ve experienced. Home to dozens of waterfalls, lush greenery and endless beauty, it made the term “saving the best for last” seem very appropriate.
