The Most Fun Fun Fun Festival in Austin

Check out the Fun Fun Fun Festival in the Live Musical Capitol of the World — Austin, TX!

I wish that I could say I’ve been attending Fun Fun Fun Festival for years, because to read about how it started out, and how far it’s come, conjures up some incredible images. For many, this festival – which just celebrated its tenth year – is a nostalgic subject. Unlike some of the other big festivals, this is one that is organized by locals, for locals. I have lived in Austin only for a year, but I’ve been to all of the festivals that take place here, and I love them all for different reasons (SXSW, Levitation, ACL, Fun Fun Fun Fest). It’s clear that this is one that will fiercely hold on to its roots and never lose its weird, edgy appeal. The crowd is indicative of what this city is all about — a mix of style, character, musical tastes broader than I’ve seen at any other festival. And that’s what Austin is. It’s a strange mix, and the uniting force is music — something this city will always hold near and dear to its heart, no matter what else changes.

This was my first festival shooting for the press and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The locals are the sweetest people and it made the festival vibes that much more enjoyable, plus it was such a great lineup. Julia, I love your work!
