5 Ways To Help You Survive Black Friday

Heading out to shop Black Friday sales today? Here are fives ways to keep sane.

The turkey’s been pardoned and the pumpkin pie eaten…only one thing remains this weekend — Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest shopping days of the year, as people go out in search of falling prices and increased bargains. That means hundreds, thousands…millions of people are taking to the streets to hit up shopping malls and local stores to start their holiday shopping. Are you one of them? Keep reading for a few tips on how to make the most of this exciting day!

Create a plan and stick to it. Some deals start and end at a specific time, so look into sales beforehand.  Devise a plan and stay true to it. With the large amounts of people out and about, it’s best to know when and where you are going, and also how you are getting there.

Pack snacks and drinks. Stay hydrated and fueled for the long day on your feet. Food courts will be packed with people waiting in long lines so bypass the mess by bringing your own snacks and finding a bench outside of the food court (or eat while on the go!).

Take a breather. Yes, take a minute to recenter yourself. Take deep breaths and stretch.

Remember Cyber Monday! If you run out of time or miss that sale you were meaning to shop, remember that Cyber Monday is just a few short days away. You’ll have another chance to save big in the comfort of your own home.

Put your feet up! End the day being outside, or cozy by the fire. You deserve it. Wind down by taking a walk outside and being in nature. Or build a fire and cozy up next to it with some hot tea and a book.

Hot tip: If you decide to take it easy on the shopping today, check out a national park! Did you know that some states like Minnesota, Missouri and California are offering free admission this Friday? Check out this article from TIME for more info!

Be sure to check out the amazing specials happening at your local Free People store and on the web!

Sadly (or gladly?) we don’t have such extensive Black Friday Shopping here in Europe, although some online shops have discount. So it’s going to be a rather relaxed Friday with online shopping for me!

I never take part of Black Friday, too chaotic for me. However, I do really enjoy Cyber Monday haha!

I did it Thanksgiving evening (when a few min before, we were all complaining ab the evilness of starting black fri on Thanksgiving, lol). Sneakers are a Must, along w/ water and fruits. Snagged a few great deals incl a maroon bedding set for my mom :) it seemed EVERYONE walked out w/ pillows, bedding, and blenders lol. I missed Santa at Macy’s Santaland :( but the FP dept soothed my broken heart :)
