The late 70s…a tale of excess, abandon and grit, captured in our newest Vintage Loves collection.
Vintage Loves. Holiday ’15. Studio Sirens. Inspired by the magic that was the Studio 54 era. A tale of excess, abandon, grit that forced the wild ones to consider just how they would seize but even a moment of freedom.
Definitive of 70s rock and roll…Blondie, Cher, the Stones, Marianne Faithfull, Anita Pallenberg were the poster children of the day. Emblazoned in blacks, golds, and metallics mixed with denim and rock. The cries, the frenzy, the magic…was it even real? Who wears the threads of madness today?
As such, Studio Sirens boasts a diverse collection of iconic 70s and 80s designers, with the likes of Moschino, Vivienne Westwood, Valentino, Halston, Missoni, Zandra Rhodes and Paco Rabanne. Ali, our Vintage Loves buyer, had to change up her game a bit, shopping via auction versus her normal process. One particular hunt yielded several amazing pieces which came straight from the archives of Anna Sui design.
Standouts of the era — chainmail tops (which Ali collaborated on with metal mesh manufacturer for over 100 years, Whiting & Davis), 70s white jumpsuits, sequin and velvet blazers, chiffon dresses for dancing up a storm.
