The FP Escapes Philosophie Cleanse (+3 Superfood Recipes!)

Use these power-packed foods to thrive this winter!

During our FP Escape to Yelapa, Mexico, powered by Yogascapes, guide Sophie Jaffe led us through a three-day food-based cleanse. Contrary to many popular cleanse programs, Sophie’s approach focuses on providing abundant nourishment, leaving you feeling satisfied as opposed to deprived. The regimen is packed with her own Philosophie Superfoods, as well as other favorite supplements from Sun Potion.

In a nutshell, you’ll be replacing no no’s, like coffee and processed foods, for fresh healthy vegetables, smoothies and superfood tonics. Let it be known, caffeine withdrawal will hit some harder than others but, in the end, you’ll feel more in tune with your body — stronger, brighter, and more grounded. Think of it as setting the baseline for how you want to live out the rest of 2016. It’s amazing what a focus on nourishment can do to change your approach to the world around you.

This is a cleanse you can replicate at home, 100%. Here’s how:

The Meal Plan
Early Morning: Upon waking, sip on warm lemon water with cayenne and ginger, then wait at least 45 minutes before eating breakfast. The time in-between is perfect for a gentle yoga practice, meditation, or journaling.
Breakfast: First and foremost, no coffee. Instead, replace it with the energizing Cacao Magic Morning Tonic found below under recipes. The buzz from this drink will make you forget all about coffee…almost. The remainder of breakfast should consist of clean protein and vegetables. Try scrambling up some eggs with a side of beans, peppers and tomato. Follow it up with an organic probiotic such as Garden of Life.
Lunch: All it takes is a superfood salad to replenish your body after a hard sweat sesh! Toss up salads with dark leafy greens, gut-friendly fermented foods, omega-packed nuts and seeds, sprouted brown rice or quinoa, a superfood dressing, and some berries or citrus slices for a touch of sweetness. Follow lunch with some bitters to aid with smooth digestion.
Afternoon Snack: Smoothies provide a daily oasis of protein, fiber, healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and YUMMINESS! Throw together fruits, leafy greens, coconut water, nut milks and Philosophie superfoods in a blender for a filling, energizing pm boost. If you’re feeling extra indulgent, replace the smoothie with Sophie’s Banana Ice Cream recipe below.
Dinner: For dinner, serve up a generous portion of zucchini noodles with a homemade garlic-basil pesto sauce. You can also make wild salmon with a delicious sweet glaze (Sophie likes creating this with coconut aminos + Green Bee Honey) and finish it off with grains and a side of in-season local veggies. After dinner, sip on detox tea as you unwind from your day.

I love the philosophiemama! She’s beautiful. warm, insightful and posts super stunning and high-quality content! The cleanse is perfect because it’s liberal enough to not feel like an actual cleanse, but it’s super healthy and versatile for anyone!
