Take a peek behind the scenes of our latest catalog, inspired by a cinematic classic.
After years and years of inspiring Free People catalogs, this month’s cinema-inspired book just might be my favorite yet. Splashed across its first few pages? An homage to one of my top films of all time: Thelma & Louise. If you haven’t seen it, I implore you to go watch it. Like, right now. GO. If at least to swoon over the costume design, which is reinvented and re-imagined through the always-incredible Free People lens in the January catalog.
Fast cars and cop cars glimmer beneath the high desert sun, our fateful pair lounging against the galaxy blue paint job of a classic Buick, a kitschy motel not far off. With the new year here and thoughts of travel and road trips filling our heads, this is divine inspiration for a (perhaps slightly less reckless) jaunt across the states. Scroll on to step behind the scenes, then be sure to pick up your own copy of the Free People January catalog to see what’s inside (hint: you definitely don’t want to miss this one).

I was hoping you could do a tutorial on how you styled the curly hair and what products you used! It is so beautiful! I have curly hair, but it is more like a limp, frizzy mess of curls. It would be so cool if yall could do this!
Beautiful. Love the locations. And the hair on the brunette!!!
