Is It Time For You To Reset?

Find that place where life goes down easy.

There’s a place not too far from here, where the clocks slow their hands and air is easy to breathe.  It may prove difficult to find — and you may stop a few times along the winding way — but if you keep on down the road, you’ll find the house with the light still on.

This weekend, a few friends and I traveled east, up and into the mountains in search of quiet sky and deep breaths. We were in the pursuit of life; intentionally running ourselves head-on into a place to spark our imagination and slow our pace.

The day-to-day grind takes its toll and can ultimately dull our senses, muddle our creative thoughts, and have us feeling like we’re forever riding the inevitable hamster wheel. So every now and again, we need to search for our reset button. Sometimes it may feel like our ability to reset has been hidden from us, out of sight and under layers and layers of “life.” But trust me, it’s there. Maybe it’s the dependable crack of the fire…the damp smell of lavender tea…a gentle hum of bass guitar…the poetic words of Leonard Cohen…a warm bath in the quiet glow…an empty journal. Wherever your reset button, go…go find it. It still has its light on.
