The FP Book Club is back with our pick for March…
March is a time for renewal and growth. As winter slowly gives way to spring, the days last a little longer and the sun shines a bit brighter… it’s the perfect month for self-reflection, and the perfect month to bring back the FP Book Club. When I came across 10% Happier by Dan Harris, I was pretty much sold by the 10% part of the title before I even knew exactly what the book was about. 10%… that seems doable, right? Not like 100%… As someone who can be pragmatic to a fault, I appreciate my fellow skeptics and pragmatists, those who approach life with a certain amount of candor. Who aren’t afraid of admitting that 10% might just be the maximum level of improvement. But 10% is much more than that. Written by Harris, an ABC news anchor, co-host of Nightline and Good Morning America, the author isn’t who you might expect to turn to for advice on meditation and mindfulness. Not a guru or a wellness expert, Harris is simply someone in search of answers, and who had a very public meltdown on live TV. His book chronicles his journey to rein in the voice in his head, the inner critic that we all have in one way or another.
Each week throughout the month of March, I’ll be sharing thoughts and discussion points with you, and I’d love for you to join. Grab your copy this weekend, and meet be back here next Saturday to discuss the first three chapters. See you then!
