Styling Story: Behind the Scenes of Rebel Rose

She’s feminine with a rebellious side — take a peek inside our vintage-inspired styling story, Rebel Rose.

Winding up the oak tree-canopied roads of Topanga Canyon is a 1963 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Slowly, methodically, rebelliously inching her way up the California coast toward TCL Retreat, an artist’s escape situated just outside Los Angeles. She’s a slick ride, emanating cool femininity and demanding the eyes of every passerby. We pull her to a slow stop at the top of a driveway and, just a few stone steps away, we come across a new beauty, this one a more sedentary creature — the Dream Dome, a magical cottage that boasts an octogonal skylight above the bed and stone fireplace.

In is in the place of peace that we’ve dedicated Rebel Rose. It’s romantic and edgy, inspired by your favorite vintage textures and prints. Denim bottoms pair with soft wovens and ditsy floral prints. For some extra flirt, pair peek-a-boo platforms with detailed socks. Keep scrolling to get a peek behind the scenes of the new look book. And don’t forget to shop the new collection!

The Skip to My Lou Printed Midi Dress is one of my favorite dresses Free People ever made! I have the tobacco one, but I love all three colors. Please make more dresses like that one before fall! This spring and summer’s dresses (and tops) haven’t been as up to par as past seasons’ clothes in my opinion, so I’m praying for some more pretty little numbers like the Skip to My Lou before the company starts bringing out all the sweaters and jackets.
