Our favorite looks and highlights from Governors Ball 2016
It’s been a minute since I last stepped foot on the grounds of a music festival, and honestly? I’d forgotten. Forgotten the energy and vibrational excitement that permeates these gatherings, like an electric currant charging through the earth, connecting thousands of people — all at once! — with the incredible power of sound. That uniting force that brings us together, that causes people to descend in ridiculous, impossible numbers on places like Randalls Island Park, like they did this past weekend for The Governors Ball Music Festival.
Whether they were there for Robyn or Beck, Against Me! or Haim, they were all there for the same reason, and the festival did not disappoint (except maybe for Sunday… that was on you, Mother Nature). The sets were energetic and the whole weekend was as incredible as you’d expect a sold-out festival in the heart of NYC to be. And the style? As eclectic as the city itself. Bright and bold patterns intermingled with pared-back looks, sneakers danced next to gladiator sandals, colorful backpacks reflected back from modern sunnies that shaded excited eyes from the (occasional) summer sun. And when the rain hit on day two… and boy howdy did it hit… it only made things better for those brave enough to follow Haim’s lead and get doused with water. Sadly, the skies had other plans for Sunday, as they seem to every year, and the lineup was canceled, but for the music fans who gathered in this tree-lined park on day one and two, it was a weekend to remember.

Loving the fashion seen at the Governors Ball. I’m mostly excited for Afro Punk and Made in America!
Great read.
Awesome flicks.
One super lively festival.
I’m looking forward to… Made in America, next.
Oh, and thank you for the killer pictures, I’m happy to have been featured.
