Testing, Testing: Organic Chlorella

How do our fave Beauty & Wellness products really stack up?

In this series, I’m going to be the guinea pig, journaling my thoughts and spilling the beans on those I love. After all, life is all about trial and error.

What’s Up? I was looking for a complete food dietary supplement to work actively into my everyday routine. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be tough to get the right amount vitamins and proteins that I  need. So I began my search. I needed something effortless to make, and exceeding in performance. While reading about superfoods, I stumbled upon chlorella and, holy moly, this stuff is packed with goodies. Let me introduce you.

Organic Chlorella. This single-celled, water grown micro-algae supplement is full of nutrient density. Containing all B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, beta carotene, amino acids, magnesium, iron, minerals, and a higher amount of protein (more than 50%) per grams of weight than meat, this superfood helps detoxify the body and supports digestion.

Journal.

After even a tiny bit of research, I was sold. How have I been living without this stuff? Order. Boom. I needed this in my life.

Entry 1: My magical jar of chlorella arrived late today. I’m going to start it first thing in the morning. I’ve read that chlorella consumption is best on an empty stomach, so as to give your body the opportunity to best absorb all of the nutrients.

Entry 2: Well, that tasted healthy. I just mixed 1 tsp of chlorella in a glass of water. It wasn’t powdery. I love extremely green juices, stuffed with kale, and this was a little greener than that. It tasted pure, if that makes sense. Wholesome, raw, and rich in green taste. In a great way.

Entry 3: I’m on day five of drinking chlorella. This morning I added it to my morning smoothie. It’s officially worked into my routine and I feel great after every drink, knowing that I’m helping my body.

Entry 4: This morning marked day thirteen of drinking chlorella, almost two weeks out. I can honestly say that my body’s digestive system is changing for the good. I don’t want to go into too many details on that, but let’s just say, things are going smoothly. TMI.

Entry 5: I’m pleased. I feel better about myself, my wellness, and my energy is even a bit higher. When I lacked protein and a few key vitamins throughout my day, I felt a bit sluggish. I’m delighted by the ease of getting these nutrients into my body. Even during a hectic morning, I can easily toss a tsp of powder in my to-go cup.

I’m giving this stuff a 5-star rating. It’s now a must-have every day. If you are sensitive to “green” tastes, I suggest mixing it into a smoothie. But know this — this superfood is very easy to consume, and is such an effortless way to help your body stay healthy.

I’m in need of a serious detoxification from metals. I did some research about this before and now that it’s walked back into my life I think it’s time to give it a try.

Love the honesty of these reviews thanks

I LOVE Chlorella, I throw it smoothies with a banana and some Sun Warrior vegan protein powder (vanilla) and anything else on hand, celery, parsley, spinach, blueberries, strawberries. I also do Spirulina, which is very similar, and even my two year old will chug it down. If im in a rush, I’ll just throw some in a bottle of water and shake and chug. I actually get cravings for this stuff.

Chlorella can build up in the liver and is not something to use long term without taking a break. Kelp offers many of the same benefits, and can be used long term. I am a Certified Herbalist and a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist.

Great article about chlorella. I’ve been eating it a while ago, but it was in pill form not in powder like you have. Don’t know if there is much difference. Other thing of superfoods you should try next i felt good benefits from is Kurkuma. I brush my teeth with kurkuma (your tooth brush becomes a dirty yellow color) but I don’t want fluoride in my system :D
