Your position at Free People…
Associate Buyer for Free People Movement, Surf and Swim, Beach and Endless Summer.

How does your job influence your personal style?
I’m very fortunate to buy categories that reflect my personal style. Those lifestyle classes are things I incorporate into my everyday life, whether it’s working out, going to the beach, rolling out of bed… just constantly being on the move!

What IS your personal style?
A little bit messy. Still put together. Effortless.

Go-to fashion rule or styling trick?
Dress according to your mood! If you force an outfit, you’ll most likely be uncomfortable throughout the day. Just go with your gut!

Favorite part about your job?
My favorite part, by far, is the people, the personalities I get to work with every day, in so many different divisions. It’s a really fun atmosphere and brings a great energy to the workplace.

Most challenging part of your job?
Striking a work/life balance. It’s easy to get carried away with your job…not that that’s a good or bad thing. It’s just so easy to run away with whatever you’re doing. As hard as you’re working, you still need to find a balance outside of that.

What’s in your freepeople.com shopping cart?
I actually am notorious for putting everything in my cart, but never buying it! I recently started working on adhering to a more minimalistic lifestyle. I really love the idea of having a closet with twenty solid items in it. I slowly started getting rid of everything and I want to only invest in great pieces I can’t live without. I’ve toned down a lot on the shopping.

I did have a moment in this vintage store last weekend where I tried on a red dress I fell in love with. I told myself that, if I couldn’t stop thinking about it in a few hours, I would stop back and buy it…fast-forward to me coming back to the store five hours later!

One thing in your closet could you not live without?
I would have to say my black leather jacket. It’s the first leather jacket I ever purchased, so I feel very attached to it. I think buying your first great leather jacket is such a pivotal moment. You know you’re investing in something that you’ll have forever and it’ll only get better in time.

I’m not sure what shorts she’s wearing? They’re definitely not the “slouchy gunner short”
