Because Sundays are for rejuvenation…
To break my Sunday cycle, I started off by telling myself this: You are a beautiful, hard-working, selfless being, and you deserve this time. Treat yourself.
So I did. Three things, every Sunday, for myself. I’m sharing them to give y’all some ideas, and hopefully inspire you to take a day off — completely — and cater to your needs. Follow along with this series if you feel like ‘you’ time is missing.
Experiment.
Try something new, challenging, and maybe even a little out of your comfort zone. Grab that Vegan Cookbook that has been sitting on your shelves and actually try something out. Today is all about you. Step out of the everyday routine of things, and you will be rewarded.
Remind.
Scribble down a silly quote, inspiring lyric or meditative mantra. Grab some masking tape, and hang it above your pillow. Keep it up until next Sunday, and then repeat. These words will be the first thing you rise to, and final thoughts before sleep. I chose: “They may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.”
Company.
Choose your company wisely. You don’t want to spend your day with someone who is draining the energy. Take some much needed alone time, or not. Listen to what you need and not what your friends or family want from you. Follow your gut, and feel okay about it. Typically, I choose to spend my Sunday with my fluffy panda bear, and I don’t feel one ounce of FOMO for it.
I’m challenging you to clear your schedule today and do 3 things for yourself. You work your butt off, and deserve some time for yourself. If you try this out, let me know how it went, and if you feel rested and rejuvenated, let’s keep this up.
I followed this post a couple weeks and went through with it while loving what I learned about myself. It can be hard to just give yourself a day and I appreciate the ideas and push for doing so because ur right, it is so important and healing. Thanks!
Yes.. Did 2/3 today and it felt wonderful… looking forward to next weeks suggestions
