Studio Time

Our studio has been shooting looks for holiday this week for our web. Here’s a couple of snapshots; we invited Natalie from Natalie off duty here… she’s like a giant pixie being, so beautiful!

The looks are very exciting and are going to make for some must have outfits ready for holiday!

Our Holiday Catalog launches very soon, can’t wait for you guys to see. It’s very nice!

The kitten Trend

Soft and Silky

There’s a new rule in town for delicate slips: Wear your sheerest of fabrics with soft and cozy knits

Sounds a little intimidating but looks very sweet. Layer lace over thermals and wear under your favorite sweaters.

A sensual and soft look we can’t get enough of.

Why we love it…

What’s not to love? I love being  cozy, and I love soft fabrics on my skin.

How we’ll be wearing it?

Lacey slips and long maxi sheer skirts with biker boots and chunky socks, super soft knitwear, and thermals.

I’m completely seduced by this trend!

It’s getting cold outside

But I still want to be sensual! When it gets cold out I usually live in the same outfit every single day… it consist of Skinny jeans, hoody, pea coat and warm boots.

This time around however I want to get a little creative with our lingerie, though – adding a little bit of cuteness to the everyday denims and sweaters. Here’re some looks that our stylist in the studio hellped us create in our studio the other day, we were in awe of all the delicate items so we decided to make them come to life by creating little outfit ideas!

Silky slips and velvet bralettes add a touchy/feely vibe to your winter wardrobe.

Not all items are online yet but will be pretty soon, I can’t wait!

Abbey Lee again in Free People

I’m sorry for the constant update lately on Abbey Lee wearing Free People but I cant help but gloat.

How often to you get a profound Fashion model wearing a brand non stop at the worlds biggest fashion event ‘Fashion week’?!

Here she’s a eclectic beauty, mixing our leaves of memory skirt with a jersey top and velvet jacket… kinda like the one that’s coming to us for Holiday :)

The sweetest thing

Nothing is more beautiful than a ceremony that comes from the heart. A couple I know, Adam Smith and Halligan Norris got married back last year in Brooklet, Savannah at a renovated barn. I was blown away by the creativeness and the beauty of their special day.

The theme was, Southern Country Fair/Vintage Circus, it evolved from  Halli’s love of vintage circus treasures and a theme that has been a huge inpsirtation towards her personal artwork.

They wanted people to feel like they were in a country fair, so every little detail with help from loved ones was considered and brought to life with the communal help from loved ones. Popcorn machines, a kissing booth and a food menu that consisted of mini hot dogs, french fries, kabobs, mini hamburgers, potato salad,  and cotton candy!

When asked about her wedding dress Halli states “I knew I would never find the dress I wanted in a store, but I did know my good girl friend Chelsea Cook’s designs were just what I was in the market for.  I wanted to look like the girl on top of the elephant at the circus.  That’s basically all the instruction I gave her and of course she made the perfect little number for me.”

This wedding always makes me smile!

The photos were shot by Josh Goleman, and  Adam and Halli  are an extemely creative couple. Click on their names to visit their websites.

NY Store Visit

nystore2

During a trip to New York last week I popped into the 5th av store to check out how the girls that work there are styling themselves with the new collection.

I asked them to pick out their favorite outfit for early Fall and here is what they choose. Don’t they look adorable!

That morning the new skinny high waisted 601 Levis arrived in and they looked great, a flattering high waist that worked well with a tucked in shirt, and great to tuck into boots.

The girls were super sweet and inspirational!

Turning Leaf

Over here in Philly I felt the chill in the air today, and it felt good. Autumn is my favorite time of year, the freshness: the crisp leaves, the warmth of the colours, and the opportunity to wear cozy clothes. I get very sentimental when I feel the chill biting through my skin. I got to my desk this morning and listened to Owen on my ipod, thoughts of getting lost in a forest and kicking leaves around, finding a log to sit on to drink hot chocolate from a flask came flooding into my imagination. It felt nice…

I think I’m going to stay right here in this mindset all day long.

Ohhhhhhhhhh man, I love autumn!

I’m pretty excited about going to an American pumpkin patch and going apple picking for a day.

I’d love to know if you guys have any fun Fall activities to share as this is my first American Fall :)

Autumn Gypsy

Untitled-8

Crushed velvet, soft dresses, shawls, fedoras and heavy jewelry contrast against ripped jeans, shaggy knitwear and fur.

Chunky wedges and tiered chiffon slips will leave trails of beauty. The collection makes you want to escape to a forbidden forest and lose yourself amongst folklore and witchcraft.

She’s a traveler whose home is a charismatic caravan her rock n roll boyfriends sings poetry while she sleeps deep. It’s a world of allurement and hocus pocus.

The attitude is intense, myterious and moody, she’s a deep thinker who soaks in her surroundings,

Enchanting.

The highlighted Shows so far – NY Fashion Week

So Far from New York the show that has stood out for me is the Charlotte Ronson show.

Everything was done so well from the combination of textures and prints to the styling and layering.

The collection was a delight “dressing down but in a romantic way” was the thesis of the range, sheerness seemed to be the prominent fabric, layered on top of prints.LOVE.

Floral prints were dressed down with grungy cardigans and loose knitted hats and… I’m all about long maxi denim dresses – this one is perfect!

It does seem like sheerness is going to be a big trend for Spring/Summer 2011, I’m seeing it in most collection (see Thakoon) everything from sheer tops to bottoms to maxi dresses.

I added in this Lela Rose ball gown because I thought it was breathtaking the subtle tie dye at the bottom is spectacular.

These are the shows that have excited me so far and I can’t wait to see what else NY has to offer!

It’s that time again… fashionshow time

Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow in New York City!

It’s an exciting time of year when Fashion is celebrated; the fashion pack is out in full force with some serious style.

I’m excited to see what trends the designers will be showing this time around. I will be pulling together my favorite shows and street style to show you guys and hopefully inspire.

Stay tuned for Fashion week show reports!
