holiday season is in full swing here at the navy yard…i went over to building 543, where our cafeteria is located, and found some people decorating gingerbread cookies…
543 is getting all decked out for the holidays…the decorations look lovely…

if you’re looking for something to do in philly tonight, head on over to fishtown, where they’re having a holiday walk this evening from 6-9pm! over 25 local businesses are participating and they’ve all got specials going on…there will be live music, art exhibits, food and drink, holiday shopping specials and more. a couple of things that sound particularly cool are a craft fair at the rocket cat cafe (2001 frankford) and a new vintage boutique called two percent to glory (1817 frankford) that is opening up this evening, prior to their grand opening.

these wedding photos are absolutely gorgeous…the beautiful bride, who works in our new york showroom, was kind enough to share them for the blog. the wedding took place at the hotel dupont in wilmington, delaware, and the outdoor portraits below were taken at the nearby gibraltar gardens. looks like the epitome of a fairytale wedding to me…that dress is incredible!

today is a very exciting day on the blog, as we have launched our new blog design! not that we didn’t love the old design, but we felt it was time for a fresh new look that will be much easier for you all to navigate around. i’d like to say a big thank you to everyone here at the home office who worked so hard on this project!

inspiration from foreign cultures and fashions has always been important to free people. our designers travel to faraway locations to immerse themselves in different cultures, meet people and visit markets and shops, seeking unique finds and treasures to incorporate into free people designs. this video is from a few years ago, but we’ve never shared it on the blog…it was taken by two of our designers on a trip to tibet.
i hope to keep bringing you more imagery and video from the places our designers travel in the future!
