I'll have to try the cherry juice one I've never heard of it, but it sounds like a cool idea! I've also learned that packing your things up for the next day (I'm in high school) and looking at your calendar helps you know what's coming up the next day. Knowing what I'm doing tomorrow helps me de-stress and therefore fall asleep quicker!

Does anyone know if the bigger shrubby st john work as well? It doevnt have the red bleeding thru the flowers like the smaller st john does ..?
M -Jul 05, 2014, 9:25PM
In agreement with previous comments, before recommending tinctures It is important that you do research, and take some responsibility by giving warning to your readers about possible complications and side effects. Although SJW is a relatively safe herb and effective for mild to moderate depression, it can also interfere with birth control and other medication, and should NEVER be taken alongside any other prescription anxiolytics, antidepressants, or antipsychotics as it can block plasma systems and render those drugs ineffective. Furthermore it has also been shown to trigger psychoses in vulnerable individuals on or off medication... So yea, herbs should be taken with the same seriousness of other drugs and the effects of SJW are well worth a little more of a warning than just the ol' "consult your doctor first."

My hair and I will put what I want in it! If yr offended by a flippin hair accesory you seriously need to go out and have some real life experiences! You are spending way to much time reading blogs !!!!! Have fun play & don't judge
Melanie -Aug 23, 2015, 8:18PM
does anyone really believe that the "white women" featured in the catalog or on line are actually discriptive or in any way representative of everyday white woman?! I sure don't! I had dreads for a long time in my twenties. I did it as a rebuke of sociatal beauty standards AND b/c I actually think they are damn beautiful! I respect people of color and as a women I especially appreciate women of color. All this "cultural appropriation " is more divisive than educational. I agree that FP and all fashion/womens mags should diversify not only in the name of inclusion but b/c we are all missing out on the bauty black, asain, latino women can bring to the industry.... But realy, as a "dumb whit girl" , I don't feel represented either. I'm 5' and 130 lvs! I don't have porcelain skin, & I'm nearly 40!

Dry brushing is a daily ritual in my house. I ABSOLUTELY love it! Living in Arizona I focus on my butt and it has helped my skin a dramatically after having my baby by tightening up my skin. I wish the brushes had a different handle for better ergonomics.

Post image for 4 Switches To Make To Your Mouth Care Routine

Oral health is so important to our overall well-being – it’s believed that taking proper care of the mouth and gums can help prevent the development of certain issues with digestion, the heart, and other major organs.Read More

Brittany Ballard -Nov 05, 2014, 11:51PM
Took the words right out of my mouth, Bek! The trace amounts found in spring water are natural and good for us, while the high amounts of artificial sodium fluoride that is added to our water, toothpastes, mouthwashes, and many foods is dangerous. It is interesting that the dental assistant mentioned that the small amount in toothpaste wasn't enough to do anything....but in combination with the amount added to public drinking water, gum, all foods grown on a farm watered with public drinking water (especially grapes and many other water heavy fruits and veggies) etc, the amount becomes substantially higher. Fun fact: Hitler actually use to heavily fluoridate the water in concentration camps to pacify the masses he had contained in the camps :/ Also it has been proven that fluoride calcifies our pineal gland, which is also regarded by many spiritualities to be our "third eye", or our spiritual connection to all other life forms and spiritual planes/beings.
Bek -Oct 05, 2014, 7:38PM
Just to add my two cents about the fluoride... Those of you saying fluoride isn't dangerous are half right - calcium fluoride, the kind found naturally occurring in some plants, food etc. isn't dangerous to you. Sodium fluoride, on the other hand, is made as a byproduct of an industry (sorry, I can't remember which one now, but a quick google should tell you) and is absolutely dangerous and poisonous. Check your toothpaste packet - in some countries it is mandatory for them to have a poison warning if more than a pea sized amount is swallowed. The scary thing is, you don't need to swallow fluoride to absorb it. There is so much information out there about the dangers of fluoride, please educate yourselves on it because it's a really important issue. To the dental assistant who said it's not dangerous, I don't mean any offense and I'm just trying to help you take a critical look on what you've been taught for a second. Don't you think that the rich people who want a way to dispose of the waste from their industry would use their money and influence to ensure that it's taught in universities (or tafe, or wherever you've studied - if you have to study to be a dental assistant? Sorry, I'm not sure of the process) that fluoride is beneficial? There have been many instances in history where the most learned people thought something was good for you or the way things were (ie. scientific racism, the world is flat, etc. etc.). There was an article recently published in the Lancet (a very highly regarded medical journal) that classified fluoride as a neurotoxin. Take some time to research all aspects of this argument because there is a lot of misinformation put out there by people who have the money and power to make their voice the one that's heard. Food for thought anyway. :)

Post image for Aromatherapy Headache Cure

We hear it all the time, or we say it ourselves: “Does anyone have an Advil?” It seems that headaches plague too many of us these days. Late nights, computer screens, stress, a stuffy nose – they are all factors that can contribute, but taking a processed remedy isn’t necessarily the best way to deal with it. All around us, nature grows healing herbs that can help alleviate the pain.Read More

This is awesome! I am impressed by the size of aloe you are holding on that picture! In England i haven't come through such a big aloe or aloe vera leaves sale at all...I'm well jealous! When my aloe grows a little more i shall definitely make this...thanks :P
Briena -Jun 12, 2014, 9:54PM
This is the best! Super excited to try making these. Something I just learned also... if you don't have aloe handy, try wetting a rag and sprinkling it with a heavy dose of baking soda. Put that straight onto the burn. Somehow it helps soak up some of the heat and really helps to reduce the sting.
