Ingredients in the recipe make me surprise, like Coconut oil, arrowroot flour, baking soda, and essential oil. Coconut oil is good but can we use any other oil instead of this? Secondly baking soda , I have heard that it can create etching. So What would you suggest instead of these 2 ingredients?

Post image for Medicinal Herbs & How To Use Them

Greensgrow is one of Philadelphia’s longstanding gems. An urban farm nestled in-between the city’s Fishtown and Kensington neighborhoods, it’s a place that has influenced a growing sustainably minded community over the last twenty years. Today, people from across the city flock to the farm in order to shop local organic foods, to find plants and tools needed for their organic garden, to make friends, and to learn at one of the farm’s many workshops.Read More

This is too amazing! I want to learn more about this and try it at home! I've tried to make lavender oil once with olive oil and that was a major fail but I still want to try again and make medicinal salves and whatnot. Thanks for sharing, loving the site!

Post image for 7 Natural Poison Ivy Remedies

When it comes to that dreaded little plant we know as poison ivy, the best advice I can give you is to just straight up stay away.

But sometimes that just isn’t in the cards. The warmth of the season has us outdoors at every possible moment, wandering and exploring every crevice of our world. And sometimes… those crevices happen to be filled with poison ivy – even if we don’t know it.Read More

i tried almost all of these and nothing really worked. If U realize home remedies are not helping, get to the doctor SOON after U get this. U need a steroid shot and possibly a script. I haven't gotten poison ivy since I was a child until now and lemme tell u OMG I never want it again! Lol Good Luck!

Sweet Fern has been used here in Maine for over 300 years to cure rashes caused by poison ivy oak and sumac. A strong infusion of tea applied to the rash stops itching on contact, stops oozing and dries the rash within a few days. A web search of "SWEET FERN" will tell you how to find it in the wild or on line or go to www.sweetreliefforpoisonivy.com.

My third grade teacher alway gave us fresh sprigs of rosemary before tests and encouraged us to take a whiff whenever we had trouble remembering answers. I haven't seen a teacher use it since then but I'm hoping to incoporate this herb once I have my liscense. :)

Mbonvent517 - Unfortunately any 'all natural' antiperspirant is going to contain some kind of aluminum or heavy metal, Bert's Bees makes an antiperspirant, but it contains aluminum, which is the compound that stops you from sweating. There are plenty of all natural deodorants on the market -- some of our faves are listed here -- but deodorant does not stop your sweat glands from producing sweat, it just masks the smell, often with baking soda or the crystal.

Ok so I'm italian from new york. I find if I use Chrystal deoderand, that rock kind,I have to add a roll on chrstal. I am 38 and swear in 20 degree weather. I'm at the point where I am consulting to with endo rinologists to have sweat glands removed which I know is not healthy. Can anyone suggest some that is natural, will act as an antiperspirant, and all natural at the same time. I'd hate to have to go to drastic measure. I'm vegetarian and am looking for all natural prod7cts. Any advise is tremendously appreciated. Money is not an issue! Thank you all.

Post image for Lotion vs. Oil: Why You Should Make The Change

This post comes from our contributor FP Naomi.Read More

RICHARD J. FISCELLA -Dec 23, 2015, 8:41PM
I CAN'T USE LOTIONS AND FACE CREAMS, THEY ARE JUST TOO HEAVY AND FEEL LIKE I'M SUFFOCATING MY SKIN. SKIN OILS ARE SO MUCH BETTER, THEY ABSORB SO QUICKLY AND GO DEEPER INTO THE SKIN. PLEASE DON'T PUT JUST OLIVE OIL ON YOUR SKIN, NEW RESEARCH IS INDICATING THAT IT BREAKS DOWN YOUR SKIN'S PROTECTIVE BARRIER, AND SLOWS HEALING OF WOUNDS!
Krystal Mccombe -Jul 13, 2015, 3:15AM
Awesome post! This is why only only use NZ RAW skincare pure newzealand oils which are just fabulous!
