Post image for Homemade Refreshing Cucumber Aloe Mist for Face and Body

The word “refresh” has such a good sound to it. It makes me think of leaping into a cool pool on the hottest of summer days. This face & body mist brings about that same feeling – and it has major benefits for your skin. Read more »

Post image for Homemade Coconut Lavender Conditioner

After doing this post on homemade coconut milk shampoo, we had some requests for a conditioner to go along with it, so here you go! Read more »

Hi everyone! Thought I'd pop in with some words as a long time DIYer with beauty products. I was looking for a deep conditioner, and this is perfect! This is good advice for anyone with straight or very softly waved hair, and only for people whose hair is NOT dyed. It should NOT be used as conditioner - that is what a vinegar rinse is for. The works BEST after a vinegar rins and applied ONLY TO ENDS and any frizz near the face. Just take a tiny amount, about 1/8th of a teaspoon, rub it between your hands, and grab just the ends of your hair and scrunch/massage it in. Use fingertips to gently spread on only any frizzy parts Doing hair the natural way you should use your no-poo shampoo every other day, vinegar rinse once a week, and this deep conditioner once a month. If this leaves your hair too dry, you are either shampooing too much or using the wrong shampoo. Good luck to all!

Hi Linda! Conditioner in every form is great for your hair, but even the store bought kind will weigh down the roots if applied all over. The driest past of your hair (and most in need of some extra love) tends to be from about mid-shaft to the ends since this is the oldest and most sun-exposed and - especially if your hair is very long - doesn't reap the benefits of the natural oils created by your body. You can definitely use this as a scalp treatment, but I'd advise against coating your entire head with it as a conditioner for these reasons :)

Post image for Awake And Cleanse: My Favorite Drink

For many months now I have been drinking lemon, honey, ginger and cayenne pepper throughout the day. It awakens me and stimulates my senses. Ginger is very good for the stomach and the lemon and cayenne pepper help to open up the nasal passages, allowing a nice breathing pattern. I always have a sweet tooth — especially during mid-day — and the honey in the drink helps to soothe it. Read more »

I love both! I currently have on Essie Where's my chauffeur? and I love it!! What brand/shade is the coral orange in this photo? I love it and it's so hard to find a good one for fair skin.

Living on a ranch, I'll just appreciate those lucky ladies who get to wear nail polish! My feet are in boots year round especially during the spring/summer (let's hear it for rattlesnakes) so I'm most happy with a pedicure, and then (also being an artist) I allow for creative freedom for the pedicurist with my toes! :-)

Hi Fp jemma I love vibe-rent colors. Always try lipstick shades according to the skin tone. Now its spring, finally time to start switching out all those dark and moody makeup hues for something that feels a little brighter and fresher.

Urban decay also has an amazing coral lipstick, and it's vegan:)

Post image for Festival Hair: A Quick And Easy Style

After day one at a festival your hair becomes a little windswept and unruly, and if you’re camping there’s a slim chance of getting the opportunity to wash it. The best thing to do is to tie it up out of your way. We’ve thought of a cute idea to keep your hair back while still making it look festival savvy: the double braid.

You will have problems using a coconut milk shampoo with acv rinse in the case that your hair is still greasy, oily or stringy...because you have bleached and or color treated your hair. The reason why is because the natural fat from the coconut milk will adhere itself to damaged hair. That's why it will look stringy. In addition to washing your hair with the natural coconut milk shampoo and using an acv rinse is also use a mild baking soda goop (baking soda dissolved in hot water) and directly apply it to the color treated part of your hair. Then rinse and finish off with an acv rinse. It will get rid of the fat and make your hair fluffy and soft, like you want it to be.

is this shampoo gentle enough to use on color treated hair?

I love henna tattoos so much that I now have 3 real ones that are based on traditional mehndi patterns, a mandala, a peacock feather and a lotus flower. But no real tattoo can completely rival henna; the beautiful imperfections and variations in colour...

Post image for Homemade Natural Bronzer Recipe

Love it! Iv got kinda sunkissed honey colored skin so when I put foundation on , I look like a ghost! So when I put this on, It gives my cheeks a lovely glow, I sweep a brush covered in this powder across my cheeks, nose , forehead and hairline, love it! Dont even need blusher! If you really need stuff for contour, just use this! I think you need to really blend this powder tilli ts fine and thin cos otherwise you will get lumpy brown clumps on your skin! You might wanna try putting a couple a teaspoons of essential oil such as lavender oil in this to make it in to a kinda smooth contour thing, be sure to blend it in a electric machine otherwise it will NOT work! xoxo
Bree -Mar 18, 2015, 8:26PM
Finally got brave and tried this. I am amazed at how nice the ingredients blended together. My first try it was too light and I found out that this recipe could also be used as a natural face powder as well. Added more cocoa powder and it was the perfect shade I needed (about 2 1/2 tsp total cocoa powder did the trick). Thanks for posting this! I am very excited to start using it on a daily basis as I've tried almost everything for my sensitive skin.
