Post image for Homemade Mud Mask

The trend we’re featuring online this week is called “By the Light of the Moon,” and it’s a romantic and ethereal trend story centered around dreamy fabrics, ruffles, and lace, with ornate collar necklaces giving a hard element to offset the softness.Read More

tip: Make sure to test on a small part of your face or on your arm. I did this mask but added mashed bananas and olive oil, and i didn't think i was allergic to any of these things and i put it all over my face. A couple minutes later my whole face was stinging and red and i was having a reaction. So, definitely test it first!

something about this post propelled me to buy the kevin aucoin Celestial Powder and do this beauty tip, and it could be my favorite thing ever! the powder is gorgeously shimmery — no jersey shore at all! and smudging some into the corners of my eyes seriously transforms my face. honestly the best beauty tip i've used in years! thanks, FP! Post image for 3 Homemade Remedies For Split Ends

This week we’re sharing some of the blog’s greatest hits! These are some of our most loved posts by you, our amazing readers.Read More

Denise -Dec 21, 2015, 7:54AM
A few of these are completely not true. There is a method to not have split ends. (It's not easy with dry hair of course but if your hair's normal or gets oily easily...) Every two years or so I donate a foot or more of my hair and almost every time I get asked how in the world do I have such healthy hair for it being so long. I hardly ever have split ends. It's not that difficult. I don't curl my hair, I rarely blow dry. I also only wash it like two times a week (like you're actually supposed to! You might not fee). Just take care of it. Don't use so many products every day. If you really don't have to, just don't it. There's plenty of cute hairstyles without the use of any products. The amount of stuff people put on their hair is ridiculous.

Post image for 4 Tricks To Make Perfume Last All Day

I love perfume. I think it’s so cool to have a signature scent that adds to the ambiance of who you are, and one that people remember you by. Scent is the most powerful memory trigger. Just one small trace of a scent can take your mind right back to a specific place, event, person, or period of time.Read More

Amanda...........ALWAYS buy the matching lotion! It's great on it's own during any season for walking around the house or, as a moisturizer/tanner while laying by the pool or beach! I wore "Beautiful" for at least ten years.......I am Caucasian but have very oily skin........that fragrance took me through every season and I always got compliments! Two years ago, I decided I wanted something new; add to that - I was beginning menopause so my hormones were changing. After trying 5 different high-dollar colognes which my husband turned his nose up at, I finally found Acqua di Gioia by Armani and it smells so clean and fresh, I get many many compliments! However, I am now looking for something it a little more substance for Fall and Winter that DOES NOT have a sandalwood, musky or patchouli base as those scents turn sour on my oily skin. If anyone has any recommendations, I am completely open to your suggestions! Love this blog!! *Ruby*

Post image for Short Hair Styling Tips From FP Girls

I have long hair but in the summertime I’m always tempted to chop it off…in this heat, shorter locks seem so much lighter and cooler.  The last time I cut my hair short was years ago and I never knew how to style it, so I’ve kept it long ever since.  But I always envy those girls who pull it off so well — for example, Anja Rubik’s perfectly tousled locks in our July book. It seemed like the perfect time to get some styling tips from our home office girls who rock the shorter hair — those of you with short hair, share your tips in the comments!Read More

Post image for How To Get A Spa Pedicure At Home

It’s the season of adventure and we’re all outside, using our feet as much as possible. I love treating myself to a spa pedicure here and there, but what I love even more is treating myself to a pedicure in my very own home. What I’ve found is that I can create my ideal experience all on my own, and that I already have access to all the necessary supplies! Read More

I make up a concoction of eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil and water in a spray bottle and spray the sheets every couple of days. Keeps the cats off the bed at least for an hour or so...I also leave my wardrobe doors open on fine days and widely open all the windows plus I have some small wooden balls I soak in essential oil (when I remember). For times when I feel less prosaic I have another spray bottle of gardenia and water which I generally just spray around the room. Lovely, nearly exotic and not too expensive.

The soap in the drawer is genius! Going to have to try that. Lavender is definitely a calming aromatic. Great ideas you've posted. Thanks!

Post image for 3 Natural Ways To Lighten Your Hair

UPDATE: This post originally ran on  June 13th but with summer at its peak we wanted to share it again!Read More

Amy -Feb 01, 2016, 3:04PM
I would definitely recommend honey. In December, I started using lemon juice, honey and water mixed all together (Since I couldn't go out in the sun) and left in in my hair for 30 min. After, I rinsed it out and over time, I saw my hair gradually getting lighter. And the honey makes your hair very soft!!!!
Randa -Jan 12, 2016, 4:50PM
Hello, I am starting to experiment with homemade beauty products, and i wanted to achieve lighter hair in the sun. The recipe i have found was honey, lemon, chamomile, and olive oil. My question is, as some of the ingredients are actual foods i’m afraid they might expire. Does anyone have an idea about the rough amount of shelf life this finished product would have? Thanks
