Post image for All Natural SPF Sun Oil

I’m always on the hunt for natural alternatives to everyday beauty products. As the temperatures start to warm up, the only thing on my mind is long days spent in the sunshine. Read more »

mauimama -Feb 23, 2015, 11:17PM
Thanks for sharing this. I tried some of these oils and had good results for off peak times of the day (mornings and late afternoons) in Maui. My family tried them afterwards and we all had success despite being fair-skinned. We also wear hats and generally avoid the sun during the hottest part of the day or use zinc oxide based block those times of the day. Many locals avoid sunblock here, many use wheat germ oil.
Mara -Feb 01, 2015, 1:53AM
Hey, just so you guys know, zinc oxide is a very finicky ingredient and more often than not de-stabilizes in recipes that are not finely tuned and scientifically tested many times. Adding zinc oxide DOES NOT automatically make something SPF 20 or over. Please know that it is very important to understand the science of sunscreen products before telling people they can go and make their own sunscreen who will probably use it on their children. Also, there is no guarantee that these oils will protect you from harmful UV and UVB rays and you should not assume that just because you have a mixture of skin protecting oils that you can be in the sun for hours on end. The best natural protecting from harmful rays is a gradual tan and taking continuous breaks in the shade throughout the time spent outside. The ancient Greeks did use olive oil AFTER sun exposure to prevent mild burning and dry skin, so there's that...

VA Construction Loans -Nov 15, 2014, 3:39PM
All of these perks make the veteran loan a very attractive home-purchasing tool. To see a complete list of eligibility requirements please check the VA web site. Since 1944, when home loan guaranties were first offered under the original GI Bill, the VA has guaranteed more than 19. The VA Loan is the only home mortgage program left that allows 100% financing. There are men and women in various communities who aren't recognized as veterans.
Stated Income Lenders -Nov 08, 2014, 10:19PM
We decided to use both the franchise stores and the Wall Street Journal to sell low-cost state of the art computers. The result will be immense, where many people can continue to feel secure that they can afford the mortgage they signed up for. Unfortunately, this situation will take some time to work through the system despite all the government and Wall Street rhetoric. It is mixed with other minerals and chemicals and used as an inert volume and weight filler in drilling mud. A balance of zero is usually a bad thing because the credit scoring method sometimes treats this like a closed account.

how come you use an image that you have simply printed? That way it can be mirrored (like if there was to be writing or lettering on the image).

Hello! I would just like to note that cocoa butter can clog pores while she's butter is non-comedogenic. If you are like me with acne prone skin, I would suggest makeing it with no cocoa butter. Great recipe!
Jo Marie -Sep 22, 2014, 8:09AM
Thank you for the post! I would try this at home, I think it's better to make your own than buy in the market because you can assure that it is safe to use.

I having been using the recipe for oily/combination skin for almost a year and I love it. Also, I left the herbs in and kept the jar in the fridge, only taking out a little at a time, and it kept a LOT longer than 1-2 weeks. This is my only toner now.
Brittany -Aug 26, 2014, 1:06AM
Why is it that dried flowers and herbs must be removed? I was wanting to make a toner with witch hazel, essential oils and some dried lavender flowers but wanted to leave them in for looks. Wouldn't the other ingredients act as preservatives to keep the flowers from molding?
