YOU RULE. Can this be done in different colored shirts, like black or grey? www.rosegold36.com

Can you use other fabric dyes such as Rit? I've done a watermark shirt with Rit and I still have some left. If it doesn't work that's fine but I just wanted to ask.

Post image for DIY Beach Glass Photo Transfer

My Aunt and Uncle have been collecting beach glass for years. When I was recently at their house for a visit, I was fascinated by how many pieces they have acquired over time. I picked up a few and started looking at them. I thought to myself, “There has to be something cool that you can do with all of this glass.” I remembered Julia’s wood photo transfer post, and that gave me the idea to try a photo transfer on a different type of medium-beach glass! I snagged a couple of white pieces from my Aunt and Uncle (with their permission) and tried out the photo transfer technique. Read more »

I love this idea! Fair warning though, doesn't work as well on low-tops because of the heel support on the back, it is very hard to push a needle through. I broke a needle when I was halfway done! Other than that, turned out perfect!

I have never though of decorating a shoe like this. But you created a whole new dimension for this. I will defensible try it out for this.

Post image for DIY Patching Denim With Lace

I tend to live in cutoffs during the summer months, and I always find myself embellishing them or patching them in various ways to make them unique (I have proof: see my DIY Studded Cutoffs, DIY Updated Cutoffs, Floral Patch Cutoffs, and American Flag Cutoffs).  This year I was inspired by our July catalog and its boy-meets-girl styling.  I love the idea of incorporating girl elements into a boyish pair of shorts through patching with lace.  It’s a great way to repair your shorts while simultaneously making them look even cuter! Post image for DIY: Camera Strap For Summer

Get real. Hot glue? no. Stitching is best. Also, for you city dwellers, weave a few strands of light weight aircraft safety wire, or at least picture hangar wire or something similar, to keep the creeps from knifing through that flimsy scarf. I trust everybody. But then, I don't live in the real world, being from southern Missouri where everybody trusts.
Jason -Oct 30, 2013, 11:21AM
Neat idea, but hot glue that's just nutty. Clearly the writer didn't do proper research.
