Post image for DIY Hanging Flower Mason Jars

I found the image below when I was just browsing the worldwide web, and immediately I knew I needed to make some adorable little hanging flower mason jars of my own. It’s such a simple idea yet it makes such an impact. I’ve always loved having flowers around the house — dried or fresh — and this is such an excellent way to showcase them. Read more »

Hi Catherine! To avoid molding, you can let the flowers dry out in the open before putting them in the jar. Hope that helps!

Post image for DIY Yoga Mat Cleaning Spray

We do yoga to take care of our bodies, but there’s something else that we mustn’t forget to provide with a little TLC from time to time: our yoga mats. You can totally go out and buy a cleaner for your mat… OR you can make one yourself. Read more »

Make sure to shake well before each use; the essential oils will separate from the water! Niaouli, lemon and myrrh are also good choices

Post image for Yoga Mat Bag DIY

Yoga mat bags are a necessity if you are someone who walks or commutes to yoga class. The mats can be slightly awkward to carry on their own and never fit properly in regular shoulder bags. Having a yoga mat bag can not only keep your mat protected, but when you’re walking, biking, or riding the subway to class you can just sling your mat over your shoulder. Finding a cute yoga mat bag is not always easy – but, making your own is! Read more »

Carolin,,try putting the strap in the long side seam. Just position and pin each end of the strap in the long seam and then sew up the seam including the strap ends. Double stitch along the strap ends for a little more strength if you want. Hope this makes sense. I'm going to make one like that.

Great job. I've been looking for something like this. Can you show us how to make one with double straps and a pocket?

Hi - what size metal stamps did you use to create the herb names on the silver spoons? Love your ideas. Thanks Pam

This is some excellent use of silverware. I'm always looking for some decent scrap metal in Minneapolis but sometimes I forget some of the most beautiful metal is in my kitchen drawer.

I have actually donr this myself DIM (LOL) and painted the outside for more control, baked them in the oven on 300 for 30 minutes, let cool & sprayed with glossy mod podge for a shiny look and mod podge regular just to set the paint. I am going to have to try painting the inside, what a great idea. THANK YOU!

Love this - can't wait to do it to my boyfriend jeans this weekend. Any idea what the song is playing at the end?

Bailey-- In my experience, it will fray a little each washing depending on additional wear that occurs between washings that may add more damage. But it shouldn't be much, especially if you wash them on a gentle cycle, and only run them through the dryer for perhaps 10 minutes at most until they're damp dry, and then hang them to dry the rest of the way. (I throw mine over a shower rod or across the top of an open sliding shower door in the spare bathroom to dry.) The heat from the dryer is where the real damage gets done--heat weakens the thread structure and makes it susceptible to break and tear much more easily. My jeans last much longer and don't shrink since I started hang-drying them.
