Post image for All Natural SPF Sun Oil

I’m always on the hunt for natural alternatives to everyday beauty products. As the temperatures start to warm up, the only thing on my mind is long days spent in the sunshine. Read more »

As with anything, including chemical based sunscreens, there are many factors that play into what is effective for one person vs another. We can't stop living or stop going outside so if you're going to try out a new product no matter what it is just do so with caution. Maybe use it on yourself first instead of your children and when the uv index is on the lower side...and of course re-application is key particularily when it comes to natural base sunscreens as my experience has been that they don't quite have the staying power. So we just re-apply them often. For the most part we use natural unless we are at the beach for the day. So maybe let's not judge someone for sharing something that works for them. We need to stick together people! Just use your own common sense when testing new products. Thanks for sharing this recipe, I can't wait to try it out!

To everyone who is worried about using a natural product which you know every ingredient it has in. You should all be more worried about using sunscreen from supermarkets etc which actually contain lots of harmful cancer causing chemicals. Do some research and think about what you are using on yourself and your children. tjis is a great recipe.

VA Construction Loans -Nov 15, 2014, 3:39PM
All of these perks make the veteran loan a very attractive home-purchasing tool. To see a complete list of eligibility requirements please check the VA web site. Since 1944, when home loan guaranties were first offered under the original GI Bill, the VA has guaranteed more than 19. The VA Loan is the only home mortgage program left that allows 100% financing. There are men and women in various communities who aren't recognized as veterans.
Stated Income Lenders -Nov 08, 2014, 10:19PM
We decided to use both the franchise stores and the Wall Street Journal to sell low-cost state of the art computers. The result will be immense, where many people can continue to feel secure that they can afford the mortgage they signed up for. Unfortunately, this situation will take some time to work through the system despite all the government and Wall Street rhetoric. It is mixed with other minerals and chemicals and used as an inert volume and weight filler in drilling mud. A balance of zero is usually a bad thing because the credit scoring method sometimes treats this like a closed account.

What am I doing wrong ? I have done this and it just doesnt work? Can you think where I could be going wrong? I have used images that I have printed out but they are from a laser/toner printer and not an ink jet. I have tried paper and glass and it doesnt work for me, I am going to try wood and see what happens there. Is there a particular type of paper that should receive the transfer? I wonder if the paper I want the image to transfer to is too shiny ? Any advice would be great as I really want to do this in a journal for my college fashion course. Thanks in advance x

Hello! I would just like to note that cocoa butter can clog pores while she's butter is non-comedogenic. If you are like me with acne prone skin, I would suggest makeing it with no cocoa butter. Great recipe!
Jo Marie -Sep 22, 2014, 8:09AM
Thank you for the post! I would try this at home, I think it's better to make your own than buy in the market because you can assure that it is safe to use.

I having been using the recipe for oily/combination skin for almost a year and I love it. Also, I left the herbs in and kept the jar in the fridge, only taking out a little at a time, and it kept a LOT longer than 1-2 weeks. This is my only toner now.
Brittany -Aug 26, 2014, 1:06AM
Why is it that dried flowers and herbs must be removed? I was wanting to make a toner with witch hazel, essential oils and some dried lavender flowers but wanted to leave them in for looks. Wouldn't the other ingredients act as preservatives to keep the flowers from molding?

sea salt spray lover -Dec 07, 2014, 2:27PM
Okay, first I love the shells! Even though they are just for show, I feel like they add something that just makes the whole spray more natural. haha. Lavender is really great, but I am wondering what other options I can use? What about season spray scents like peppermint? Would that be too much? I guess there is only one way to find out! Thanks for this. Your pictures are incredible - love love love! Great DIY Sea Salt Spray.

Lydia - It doesn't take much for coconut oil to melt. Just the heat of your hands will do it. If you keep the spray in your bathroom where it's usually humid it should pretty much stay liquid :). I keep a tub in my pantry in my kitchen and it never returns to solid form.
