Post image for Jemma’s January Hotlist

As we enter a new year, new desires come into view. With a new month and a brand new catalog, a new hotlist has been born.  I always love creating a hotlist each month, whether it’s to do with fashion, work, or my lifestyle. I put things in a collage that I admire and desire and then see if I can achieve them.

Post image for Why We Love The Poncho

The Poncho is an easy go-to during the winter months, a fun layer to add on top of your shirt, dress, and lightweight sweater. The Poncho throws me back to the 70’s when I used to admire Susan Dey on the sitcom The Partridge Family and watch the magical Stevie Nicks dance around playing sweet music. Read more »

I used to have a purple knit poncho I wore all the time. When I first bought it, it was too large for me and that was ok because it was so comfortable. Every time I washed it, it shrank a little bit more. After 8 years, it was just a little thing and I couldn't wear it any more. After looking at this page, I realize I need to buy another!

I need a poncho now. Love all of these styles, look so warm and cozy! http://bohobrain.wordpress.com/

Post image for Current Obsession: Suede Bohemia Hat

I’ve always been one to love a good hat.  Sometimes you just don’t feel like taking the time to fix your hair in the morning, and a hat is always a sure-fire way to cover it up and still look cute.  Read more »

Funny you posted this Julia...I have always worn slouchy hats/beanies too, I've never really tried to wear any type of wide brim hat but last weekend I purchased a black floppy wool one and I am addicted to it. I thought because of my curls the hat would not sit right on my head but I was so wrong. I could definitely see myself owning one in suede...hhhmmm. Have a great day!

Oh I love this! But I can't help thinking 'oh that's so not Amsterdam-ish style- this is the JANUARY catalog?! how fitting it's snowing here at the moment - they must have been so cold' Haha apparently that's typical Dutch neutral thinking ;) Love from snowy Amsterdam (ice skating people on the canals isn't really something fitting for the average Free People dress, is it? :)

I wish I had your legs!!!!! I am short and I always have to work hard to stop my legs from getting chunky... despite this, I can make a mini work for me with the right shoes, etc. The tall socks from FP are a real winner, they instantly lengthen your legs. And to my surprise, the super tall boots from J. Campbell that you sell (Joe and Johnny) work for me; I thought my legs would be too short but these boots are totally awesome on anyone, I think!!
Julia -Dec 30, 2012, 12:28PM
I've always loved mini skirts especially bolder ones like the Rattlesnake mini skirt. I agree balance is everything, and posture. Ladies need to keep their legs together in a skirt sadly half the girls in my school havn't learned this rule.

Post image for Office Style: Style From Within

With the week being very quiet due to the Christmas holidays, I decided to pinpoint ladies whose style I really admire. Each and every day I see them they bring a smile to my face. These ladies dress from within, the outfits they wear constantly tell a story about who they are, what passions they have and what they are about… deep from within! They wear their personalities and it screams “this is who I am, take it or leave it” and there’s something I find so endearing about that. Read more »

Wow I LOVE this post. It is so important for females to remember to be true to themselves, regardless of what others think (because really, who cares?) Very impressed with FP! I'd like to see more posts like these.
